This opportunity is for a senior embedded firmware engineer based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, working on the design and development of robust firmware for real-world devices and applications. The position sits within full lifecycle embedded development, so the work spans from early design through implementation and delivery, with scope to make a meaningful technical contribution at a senior level.<\/p>\n

What the role involves<\/h3>\n

  • Taking ownership of and contributing to embedded firmware work across the full development lifecycle.<\/li>\n
  • Designing firmware that is reliable, practical, and suitable for deployment in real products.<\/li>\n
  • Working as a senior engineer on embedded C development tasks.<\/li>\n
  • Supporting development across a variety of microcontroller families, including STM32 and PIC32.<\/li>\n
  • Using Python where needed to support development, testing, or engineering workflows.<\/li>\n
  • Working with common embedded interfaces and protocols such as I2C, SPI, and serial communications.<\/li>\n
  • Developing in both RTOS-based systems and bare-metal environments.<\/li>\n
  • Applying a strong understanding of hardware to firmware decisions, with an interest in PCB schematics being useful.<\/li>\n
  • Contributing knowledge of embedded Linux where relevant, particularly in relation to SoC or SOM-based embedded Linux applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
