An opportunity is available for an experienced FPGA specialist to join a rapidly expanding sensing technology company working on advanced instruments used to monitor critical infrastructure around the world. The role is based near Bristol and is part of an on-site development team. The work is highly practical and combines new product research and development with improvements to existing platforms.<\/p>\n

The company develops distributed fibre sensing systems that are deployed globally to support monitoring of assets such as borders, pipelines, railways, and power networks. In this position, you will contribute to technology that moves from early concept stages through to real-world use, working in a fast-moving environment with scientists and engineers.<\/p>\n

What you will do<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Design and develop FPGA solutions for sensing products used in demanding real-world applications.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to both new product development and the enhancement of established platforms.<\/li>\n
  • Help take ideas from concept through to deployment, supporting the full journey from R&D to practical implementation.<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers in a collaborative setting.<\/li>\n
  • Carry out hands-on engineering work as part of an on-site development team near Bristol.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Experience using Xilinx Vivado for FPGA development.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to design for multiple clock domains and successfully close timing on complex designs.<\/li>\n
    • Experience implementing DSP algorithms and functions in FPGA hardware, including digital down conversion, filtering, and FFT processing.<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with Xilinx RFSoC Ultrascale+ devices and the associated ADC and DAC peripherals.<\/li>\n
    • Understanding of high-speed digital and analogue hardware design, along with the ability to debug related issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
