This opportunity is for an FPGA Team Lead based in Hampshire, England, within an innovative communications business developing advanced baseband technology for satellite networks. The work centres on enabling high-performance global connectivity, including FPGA technology that supports 5G connectivity from space. The position combines hands-on technical engineering with people leadership, giving you ownership of both delivery and team development.<\/p>\n

In this role, you would take responsibility for the technical direction of a growing digital design group while helping to shape the hardware strategy for high-performance Layer 1 IP. You would also play a key part in ensuring that complex FPGA and ASIC programmes are delivered successfully, while contributing to the wider product direction of the company.<\/p>\n

What you would do<\/h3>\n

  • Lead the technical and managerial development of a growing FPGA and digital design team.<\/li>\n
  • Drive the creation of FPGA technology used to support satellite-based 5G connectivity and related communications systems.<\/li>\n
  • Set and maintain the technical roadmap for high-performance Layer 1 IP.<\/li>\n
  • Oversee the successful delivery of demanding FPGA and ASIC projects across the full development cycle.<\/li>\n
  • Work closely with algorithm, system architecture, software, and senior leadership teams to convert product needs into practical hardware implementations.<\/li>\n
  • Turn product and system requirements into robust FPGA and ASIC solutions.<\/li>\n
  • Support and develop engineers through mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance.<\/li>\n
  • Improve design approaches, engineering methods, and team processes across the hardware function.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to customer discussions and represent the technical capability of the team.<\/li>\n
  • Help advance the company\u00e2\u0080\u0099s product portfolio through strong technical leadership and delivery focus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Previous experience leading FPGA or digital design teams, with a track record of developing engineers.<\/li>\n
    • Strong RTL design skills using Verilog or SystemVerilog.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on experience with FPGA development and\/or ASIC development.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of DSP or other high-throughput signal-processing architectures.<\/li>\n
    • A strong grasp of synthesis, timing analysis, and hardware optimisation.<\/li>\n
    • Experience delivering complex IP from initial development through to completion.<\/li>\n
    • Clear technical leadership ability and strong project delivery skills.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with 5G or communications DSP would be helpful.<\/li>\n
