Requirements<\/h2>\n

What we're looking for<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Strong proficiency in C++<\/strong> for embedded systems (C++11\/14\/17).<\/li>\n
  • Experience in embedded development for communications or signalling systems<\/strong> (modems, radios, data links, or similar).<\/li>\n
  • Familiarity with embedded debugging<\/strong>, performance optimisation<\/strong>, and hardware\u2011software interaction.<\/li>\n
  • Understanding of secure coding practices<\/strong>, configuration management, and development governance.<\/li>\n
  • Experience with requirements traceability<\/strong>, verification, and system\u2011level testing.<\/li>\n
  • Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Software Engineering<\/strong>, Computer Science<\/strong>, or related discipline or  relevant technical military background<\/strong> with equivalent experience.<\/li>\n
  • Must be eligible to hold or already hold UK SC Security Clearance<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Experience with Linux kernel drivers<\/li>\n
    • Experience with communication stacks, DSP concepts, or RF\u2011adjacent technologies.<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with embedded Linux or RTOS environments.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with CI\/CD tooling, model\u2011based design, or static analysis tools.<\/li>\n
    • Background in defence, avionics, or secure\u2011systems engineering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Join our team to develop embedded C++ software<\/strong> for high\u2011reliability communication and information\u2011exchange systems used in defence environments. You\u2019ll contribute to next\u2011generation communication and signal\u2011processing technologies<\/strong>, working across embedded platforms that demand robustness<\/strong>, security<\/strong>, and deterministic performance<\/strong>. This role is ideal for an engineer experienced in embedded C++ who enjoys contributing to complex systems that underpin secure and mission\u2011critical operations.<\/p>\n

        On\u2011site:<\/strong> 4 days per week
        Seniority:<\/strong> Senior (8+ years of experience)
        Clearance:<\/strong> Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance.<\/p>\n

        What you'll do<\/h3>\n

        • Design, implement, and maintain embedded C++ software<\/strong> for real\u2011time communication and signal\u2011processing systems.<\/li>\n
        • Develop and support software for embedded communication modules, modems, and RF\u2011adjacent components.<\/li>\n
        • Conduct debugging, optimisation, and performance testing<\/strong> across embedded targets to ensure reliability under operational loads.<\/li>\n
        • Produce clear and traceable design specifications<\/strong>, requirements, and documentation aligned with regulated development practices.<\/li>\n
        • Ensure adherence to secure coding standards<\/strong>, governance policies, and safety\u2011critical development procedures.<\/li>\n
        • Support integration activities with wider engineering teams and contribute to architecture and design reviews.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
