Design Electronics for the Next Generation of Space Missions<\/p>\n

Xperior Global is partnering with an established and innovative space technology company seeking an experienced Embedded Electronics Design Engineer<\/strong> to join its growing engineering team in Westcott, Buckinghamshire.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of advanced electronic systems for real spaceflight applications, including European Space Agency (ESA) programmes, deep-space exploration, Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions and scientific research.<\/p>\n

You will work on technologies ranging from power processing and distribution systems to motor controllers, precision mechanisms and spacecraft electronics.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We are particularly interested in engineers with a strong background in electronic hardware design, PCB development, power electronics and embedded control systems<\/strong>, rather than purely software-focused profiles.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Role<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

As an Embedded Electronics Design Engineer, you will be involved throughout the electronics development lifecycle, from initial concepts and prototyping through to testing, qualification and flight-ready hardware.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Design, develop and test embedded electronic systems for space applications.<\/li>\n
  • Develop electronic circuits, schematics and PCB layouts.<\/li>\n
  • Design power supplies, DC-DC converters, microcontroller-based electronics and motor drive systems.<\/li>\n
  • Perform circuit analysis, simulation and component selection.<\/li>\n
  • Support the development of power processing, distribution and conditioning units.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, systems and manufacturing engineers.<\/li>\n
  • Conduct hands-on prototyping, hardware testing, troubleshooting and debugging.<\/li>\n
  • Support manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing (MAIT) activities.<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to engineering documentation and design reviews.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What We’re Looking For<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Essential Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in embedded electronics or electronic hardware development.<\/li>\n
    • Strong understanding of electronic circuit design and PCB development.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with microcontroller-based control electronics.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of DC-DC converter topologies and power electronics.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with motor drive or actuator control electronics.<\/li>\n
    • Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent.<\/li>\n
    • Practical experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters and other electronic test equipment.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, soldering, testing and fault-finding.<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with engineering standards such as IPC, ECSS, ESCC or IEC.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Candidates from space, aerospace, defence, automotive, industrial automation and other high-reliability engineering sectors<\/strong> are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n

      Desirable Experience<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Space Engineering or a related discipline.<\/li>\n
      • Experience developing electronic hardware for spaceflight applications.<\/li>\n
      • Full product development lifecycle experience, including flight-ready electronics.<\/li>\n
      • Experience using LTspice or similar circuit simulation tools.<\/li>\n
      • Understanding of radiation effects on electronic components and associated mitigation techniques.<\/li>\n
      • Experience working with high-reliability or safety-critical electronics.<\/li>\n
      • More than five years of relevant electronics engineering experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
