This position sits within Amazonâs supply chain organization and focuses on supplier performance management for IT hardware used across Amazon Fulfillment. The role combines team leadership, supplier management, operational problem-solving, and strategic planning. It is responsible for helping ensure that critical supplier portfolios are managed effectively, that new device launches and hardware testing run smoothly, and that supply chain processes support speed, scale, quality, and cost goals.
What you will do
- Set up and lead a newly created supplier performance management team.
- Develop and coach a high-performing group of supply chain professionals, supporting their growth through mentoring, feedback, and career development while keeping the team aligned with Amazonâs leadership expectations and wider business objectives.
- Own supplier relationship management for important portfolios, including monitoring supplier performance, strengthening supplier capabilities, planning capacity, and reducing operational and commercial risk.
- Work closely with IT hardware engineering, technical operations, and product management teams to build product roadmaps and lifecycle plans.
- Create practical forecasting and capacity-planning methods for both new product introductions and existing product lines.
- Ensure the team consistently maintains supplier scorecards, runs quarterly business reviews, and follows through on supply issues until they are resolved.
- Lead reviews with manufacturers and suppliers to make sure costs remain aligned with business priorities and that cost-avoidance objectives are met.
- Guide the team in designing and delivering global solutions that improve supply chain speed, resilience, and scalability.
- Define the operating strategy for the team, covering product quality, supply risk, delivery performance, supplier data management, and supplier compliance.
- Create tools and reporting processes that allow supplier metrics to be collected, measured, and shared clearly with stakeholders.
- Improve the existing supplier scorecard process so it provides objective, actionable feedback to critical suppliers on what they do well and where they need to improve.
- Work with other leaders to resolve supply chain process problems linked to supplier performance.
- Take a hands-on approach with suppliers to support everyday operational needs, including delivery performance issues, quality concerns, and compliance gaps.
- Handle day-to-day escalations and decide which at-risk product orders need the highest priority.
- Monitor changing business needs and market conditions that could affect supplier performance and adjust plans accordingly.
- Perform spend analysis using a range of relevant information, build financial models, identify opportunities, and prepare recommendations and business cases for internal partners.
- Support the strategic goals of business partners by acting as a consultant and helping them achieve their objectives.
- Be seen by internal partners as someone who adds value and helps drive their strategy forward.
What Amazon is looking for
- Experience in program or project management.
- Experience working in supply chain.
- Experience using data and metrics to identify opportunities and drive improvement.
- Experience owning a program strategy from start to finish, delivering results, and communicating outcomes to senior leadership.
- A bachelorâs degree.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives is desirable.
- A masterâs degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or a related field is desirable.
Location and working arrangement
The role is based in London and includes around 20% travel, mainly across Europe.
