Amazon’s device advertising organization is looking for a senior business development leader to help drive the next phase of growth for its advertising initiatives. The team builds and delivers demand products that allow advertisers to purchase media across Amazon’s publisher and device ecosystem. As the business expands, the organization is adding new advertising capabilities, supply-side inventory options, and measurement technologies that require coordination across several internal teams.

In this role, you would take ownership of a major initiative and act as the business lead for it, with responsibility similar to a general manager. The focus is on launching and scaling advertising programs, expanding into new customer groups and new regions, and increasing revenue from Amazon Devices such as Alexa. You would also help shape the commercial strategy for the initiative, identify new opportunities, and guide the business through its next stage of growth.

What you would do

• Lead the commercial growth strategy for a key Amazon Ads device advertising initiative from launch through expansion.
• Own the business direction for the program in a general-manager style capacity, with accountability for growth and market development.
• Find and develop new business opportunities, including untapped customer segments and additional geographic markets.
• Help increase advertising revenue tied to Amazon Devices, including voice and device-based products such as Alexa.
• Build on existing customer channels and improve their scale and effectiveness.
• Guide strategic planning for the initiative and help define priorities for the business.
• Influence sales and account planning so that commercial teams are aligned with the initiative’s goals.
• Provide business perspective and input into go-to-market strategy.
• Partner with Sales and Finance to refine product packaging and commercial offerings.
• Work across Amazon teams to support new ad products, inventory supply, and measurement solutions that span the company.

What Amazon is looking for

• Experience building strategies that can shape decisions made by senior leadership at an organizational level.
• Professional background in go-to-market, business development, sales, or consulting.
• Experience working with technologies connected to data and artificial intelligence, including machine learning, generative AI, analytics, databases, or storage.
• Preferred senior leadership experience, such as having founded a business, served as an executive, led a practice, or owned a business unit.
• Preferred experience selling to large enterprise customers, especially Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 companies.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders in sales, finance, product, and other partner teams.
• Strong commercial and strategic thinking appropriate for a principal-level role.
• The position is based in London and sits within Amazon UK Services Ltd. in the Business and Merchant Development area.
