| Category | General Jobs |
| Job Type | Full Time |
| Location | Cambridge |
This is a senior commercial product management opportunity focused on foundry platforms within a semiconductor business that is developing innovative electronics technology. The role sits in the Commercial team and reports to the Senior Director of Product Management. It is intended for someone who can operate with a high degree of independence, combine technical depth with commercial judgement, and help shape the companyâs long-term platform direction so it supports strategic growth.
The position is centred on building and evolving the foundry platform portfolio so that it aligns with the companyâs wider objectives. Rather than focusing on one-off customer solutions, the role is about creating reusable, scalable platform offerings that can serve multiple customers and markets. The successful candidate will help define differentiated flexible IC technology platforms, process nodes, PDKs, and related enablement services, ensuring the overall foundry proposition is compelling for the intended end markets.
The role is ideally based in Cambridge and follows a hybrid working pattern. The company is also open to discussing other working arrangements. It is a full-time position.
What you will do
- Take ownership of the foundry platform portfolio and shape its direction, including the technology stack, commercial packaging, process capability, design-enablement assets, and service elements.
- Convert the companyâs strategy into practical platform roadmaps that balance short-term revenue opportunities with longer-term investment in capability.
- Manage the needs of both internal IDM business-line customers and external foundry customers, ensuring the portfolio supports immediate business goals while also building future value.
- Ensure the platform offering remains commercially sound, scalable, and clearly differentiated from competing technologies.
- Develop business cases, market opportunity assessments, customer insight, and competitive intelligence to guide investment and roadmap decisions.
- Build a strong understanding of the semiconductor and advanced packaging ecosystem, including fabless companies, system integrators, OEMs, design houses, and ecosystem partners, together with their technical, commercial, and time-to-market priorities.
- Represent the foundry platform perspective internally during planning and portfolio management discussions, and externally in strategic commercial and joint development conversations.
- Write and maintain MRDs, PRDs, and platform requirement documents that direct process development, PDK creation, reference flows, design enablement, and supporting services.
- Work across application engineering, design enablement, technology development, operations, sales, and marketing to make sure platform execution is successful.
- Communicate platform trade-offs in a way that clearly links technical choices to business impact, customer value, and return on investment.
- Own the platform through its full lifecycle, from early concept and investment approval through ramp-up, adoption, and ongoing evolution.
- Support important customer engagements where senior input is needed on platform definition, roadmap alignment, or escalation handling.
- Use customer and market feedback to continuously improve roadmap priorities and refine the platform direction.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert on foundry platforms and the business models that support them.
- Partner with product marketing on positioning, go-to-market planning, launch preparation, messaging, and ecosystem narratives for the platform portfolio.
- Launch and lead strategic initiatives that span multiple teams or market areas, particularly where ownership is not yet clearly assigned.
- Encourage the organisation to think in terms of platform reuse, modularity, and leverage across customer engagements rather than bespoke solutions.
What the company is looking for
- A bachelorâs degree in electronics engineering, or equivalent experience gained in a similar field.
- Strong semiconductor industry knowledge and experience.
- Significant product management experience within semiconductors.
- The ability to work at both strategic and execution levels, turning uncertainty into clear, structured plans.
- A strong grasp of foundry economics, platform reuse, and customer enablement topics such as process technologies, PDKs, design flows, or manufacturing services.
- A proven record of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing others without relying on direct authority.
- Experience working effectively in fast-moving scale-up environments where priorities and conditions can change quickly.
- Comfort discussing technical and commercial topics with senior leaders, customers, and partners.
- Desirable experience in foundry, platform, or advanced packaging business models, including areas such as system-in-package or high-density interconnects.
- Desirable experience creating market models for business cases and sizing opportunities.
- Desirable knowledge of working with or inside semiconductor foundries.
- Desirable understanding of CRM-based customer management and sales-enablement approaches.
- Desirable experience using CRM systems.
- Desirable experience in market analysis and competitive intelligence.
- The company welcomes applications from candidates who do not meet every requirement but believe their background is a strong fit.
