This role sits within the new EU Books Compliance team and focuses on building product solutions for Books customers in response to a rapidly changing regulatory environment. The work is centered on turning complex compliance needs into scalable technical approaches that can be reused across different regulatory scenarios. What you will do

  • Shape and lead the product strategy for the Books compliance area so it aligns with the wider compliance direction for the business.
  • Turn evolving regulatory obligations into concrete product requirements for a range of Books compliance initiatives.
  • Work through difficult decisions involving delivery timing, implementation cost, and whether components can be reused across projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering to influence technical architecture and ensure design choices meet both customer expectations and legal requirements.
  • Make prioritization calls and manage trade-offs between launching quickly, maintaining performance, and delivering the right feature set.
  • Build alignment around your roadmap by writing clear narratives and persuading central partner teams and other stakeholders.
  • Understand and manage dependencies between Books teams and central teams so work can move forward smoothly.
  • Define product goals and the metrics used to measure success, including experiment and web lab measures where relevant.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, including sustainability-related trends, and use that insight to inform future planning.
  • Remain adaptable when regulations change or the initial scope shifts, since compliance work often involves uncertainty and ambiguity.

What you need

  • Experience in technical product management, program management, or engineering.
  • Hands-on involvement in engineering discussions about technical choices and product direction.
  • Experience owning feature delivery and making product trade-offs.
  • Experience defining and driving roadmap strategy.
  • Experience delivering products from concept through launch.
  • Direct collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous situations, setting priorities, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
  • Preferred: experience using analytics tools such as Tableau, QlikView, or QuickSight.
  • Preferred: a bachelor’s degree.
