This opportunity is with a leading semiconductor business in Cambridge that is building advanced wireless connectivity technology. The role sits within a multidisciplinary engineering group and focuses on converting sophisticated algorithms into reliable software that is ready for production and deployed on complex RF hardware. You will be working at the intersection of software, hardware, and systems engineering, helping to bring measurement and optimisation ideas into practical use in real-world environments.
What you will be doing
- Building Python-based desktop software for a company operating in the semiconductor and wireless connectivity space.
- Taking advanced algorithmic concepts and turning them into robust applications that can be used in production.
- Supporting software deployment on specialised radio-frequency hardware and related engineering platforms.
- Collaborating closely with hardware and systems engineers to make sure software solutions work effectively in real-world test and operational settings.
- Helping translate measurement and optimisation approaches into functioning tools and applications.
What the company is looking for
- Hands-on Python development experience, particularly for desktop software.
- Experience implementing algorithms and improving their performance or effectiveness.
- Background working alongside hardware teams or in environments connected to embedded systems.
- Any exposure to RF systems or wireless communications would be an advantage.
- Someone who is comfortable working in a highly technical, cross-functional engineering environment.
- Willingness to work onsite in Cambridge for at least four days each week.
Package and working setup
- Salary of up to £70,000.
- Stock options are included as part of the offer.
- The role is based in Cambridge, England.
- The working model is predominantly onsite, with a minimum of four days per week in the office.
