An international employer is looking for a Semiconductor Process Development Engineer to join its Technology Development team in Glasgow. The position is centered on improving semiconductor manufacturing processes and making sure module-level targets are achieved for discrete products. The company is seeking a candidate who is highly driven, technically strong, and able to work analytically to solve development challenges.

What you will do

  • Work within the Technology Development team at the Glasgow site on process development for discrete semiconductor products.
  • Improve semiconductor process flows so that performance, reliability, and module specifications are consistently met.
  • Develop and define important process modules in areas such as patterning, etching, deposition, and metrology.
  • Lead process optimisation efforts to enhance process capability and support product requirements.
  • Use design of experiments to structure development work and evaluate process changes.
  • Analyse experimental and process data to support technical decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Carry out defect analysis and failure analysis as part of development and troubleshooting activities.

What the employer is looking for

  • Strong technical understanding of semiconductor process technology and device physics.
  • Experience defining and improving process modules across patterning, etching, deposition, and metrology.
  • Familiarity with design of experiments and statistical analysis methods or tools.
  • Hands-on exposure to semiconductor process equipment would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to prepare clear technical reports.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar subject area is required.
  • An advanced degree would be an advantage.
