A major global semiconductor business based in Edinburgh is seeking a Design Verification Team Lead to take ownership of verification for sophisticated mixed-signal ASICs. The company operates at international scale, with a workforce of more than 20,000 people across over 30 countries, and this position offers the chance to influence technology that is deployed worldwide. It is positioned as a step up for someone who has already led a small verification group and now wants greater technical ownership without moving into a heavily managerial role.
What the role involves
- Taking the lead on a small verification team and providing day-to-day technical guidance and mentoring.
- Building and driving the verification plan for complex mixed-signal ASIC work, using UVM and SystemVerilog-based methods.
- Owning both functional verification and formal verification activities.
- Working closely with design and architecture teams to make sure verification is aligned with the intended product behaviour.
- Improving verification coverage, quality, and overall delivery performance.
What the employer is looking for
- A solid background in design verification, whether from a digital or mixed-signal environment.
- Previous experience leading a small team or managing verification workstreams, ideally with responsibility for a team of around two to three engineers.
- Practical experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Knowledge of assertions and coverage-based verification techniques.
- Exposure to ASIC or mixed-signal development environments; experience with RNM would be a plus.
- Senior engineers ready to move into a leadership position, or current small-team leads who want more scope and visibility, are especially well suited.
- Applicants who are open to relocation and interested in working on globally deployed projects.
What is on offer
- A salary of up to £90,000.
- Bonus payment in addition to base salary.
- Restricted stock units as part of the overall package.
- Relocation assistance for the right candidate.
- The chance to work on high-impact technology used around the world.
- A clear progression path into deeper technical leadership.
- The opportunity to join an innovative and expanding semiconductor organisation.
