Senior Digital ASIC Design Engineer Overview

This opportunity is with a leading semiconductor company that is expanding its advanced research and development activity. The business is looking for an experienced senior digital ASIC engineer to help create the next generation of mixed-signal devices for demanding high-performance data applications. In this position, you will be a key contributor in turning product ideas into working silicon.

What you will do

• Take part in defining the architecture and planning the detailed implementation of the ASIC.
• Design and verify RTL using Verilog or VHDL.
• Build and apply structured verification methods to confirm the design works correctly.
• Assist with mixed-signal integration by carrying out modelling and simulation work.
• Ensure the design reaches sign-off and satisfies the standards needed for production-quality release.
• Pass on technical knowledge and help develop more junior members of the engineering team.

What the role calls for

• A strong history of delivering ASIC projects from the initial concept stage through to silicon.
• Advanced RTL design ability in either Verilog or VHDL.
• Hands-on experience with low-power digital design approaches.
• Knowledge of common synthesis and physical implementation flows used in semiconductor design.
• Exposure to modern CMOS technologies.
• The confidence and experience expected of a senior engineer who can contribute to design decisions and support others.
