This opportunity is for an experienced PDK Manager to join a rapidly expanding semiconductor business in Cambridge. The position sits within a UK-based company working on advanced technology, and the employer is looking for someone who can take ownership of PDK activity and operate confidently in a standalone capacity while helping to shape the function for the future.
The role is suited to a seasoned Process Design Kit specialist who can lead PDK work across a wide range of technology nodes. You will be central to the development, upkeep, and support of PDKs, and your work will directly contribute to improving design productivity, strengthening verification support, and keeping CAD and design flows running smoothly. The company also sees this hire as an important step in growing the PDK team over the longer term.
What you will do
- Take responsibility for leading PDK-related activity across the business as the main subject matter expert.
- Build, maintain, and support PDKs covering multiple technology nodes.
- Help streamline and improve engineering design workflows.
- Support analog design verification tools and the associated verification processes.
- Provide support for CAD flows and ensure they are effective for internal design teams.
- Contribute to the development of the PDK function so it can scale as the business grows.
- Work with cutting-edge semiconductor technologies and broaden your technical exposure across different environments.
What the employer is looking for
- Extensive experience in EDA, CAD, and PDK development.
- Previous experience acting as a PDK lead or in a comparable senior ownership role.
- Programming capability in Python and Skill.
- Strong understanding of analog verification tools and techniques, including DRC, LVS, and PEX.
- Experience working with several PDKs and exposure to major foundries such as TSMC, GlobalFoundries, and Samsung.
- Confidence working independently and taking full ownership of PDK tasks.
- A collaborative, positive approach and strong communication skills.
