Hardware Design Engineer Overview

An electronics company near Northampton is seeking a hardware engineer to join its hardware team and support the development of electronics designed for harsh operating environments. The position offers the chance to take part in projects from the earliest requirements stage through to final design delivery, with a strong emphasis on hardware engineering and some exposure to embedded electronics and firmware work.

What you will do

• Work as part of a hardware engineering team developing electronics for demanding and rugged applications.
• Contribute to projects throughout the full design process, from initial concept and requirements capture through to completion.
• Help turn customer needs into clear engineering requirements and design direction.
• Take part in multidisciplinary project work, collaborating with colleagues from other technical areas.
• Focus mainly on hardware development while also supporting related embedded electronics and firmware activities where needed.
