This opportunity is for an experienced supply chain planning consultant who can bring deep RELEX expertise into transformation programmes for major clients. The role sits within Capgemini Invent’s Intelligent Industry practice, where consulting teams combine strategy, creativity, science and technology to help organisations solve complex business challenges. The work is focused on end-to-end planning transformation, with particular emphasis on designing, configuring and improving RELEX-enabled solutions across demand planning, supply planning, replenishment and inventory optimisation.
What the role involves
You will help clients shape and deliver planning solutions that are aligned to their business needs and that can scale across complex operating environments. The position blends advisory work with hands-on delivery, so you will be expected to move comfortably between solution design, configuration, stakeholder management and programme execution. The role also offers exposure to a range of sectors, including consumer products, retail, life sciences and automotive.
Core responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to supply chain transformation engagements built around RELEX, from early solution shaping through to implementation and optimisation.
- Translate client requirements into solution designs that make effective use of RELEX capabilities.
- Support business development activity by contributing to proposals, RFPs, RFIs, demonstrations and commercial discussions.
- Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders across supply chain and IT, ensuring the solution remains aligned to business priorities.
- Run delivery workstreams on implementation and optimisation programmes, keeping work on track and aligned to agreed outcomes.
- Turn business needs into functional and technical designs that can be configured in the platform.
- Configure RELEX modules and support deployment activities, including forecasting, replenishment and inventory optimisation.
- Help connect RELEX with surrounding systems such as ERP platforms and data solutions.
- Support testing, cutover, go-live stabilisation and continuous improvement after launch.
- Track delivery quality and help manage risks, issues and timelines.
- Work with programme leadership to ensure delivery decisions support wider business goals.
- Prepare clear, executive-level analysis and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with consulting, data and engineering colleagues to deliver integrated solutions.
- Coach junior team members and help build the wider RELEX capability within the practice.
- Contribute to internal assets, methods, best practices, thought leadership and practice development.
- Take part in wider business and internal contribution activities such as recruitment, training, campaigns, whitepapers, events and offering development.
- Support learning and development activity, including training and certifications that strengthen your career growth and the firm’s capability.
What the firm is looking for
- Previous delivery experience on RELEX implementation projects, gained from consulting, client-side or vendor roles.
- Strong working knowledge of RELEX modules such as forecasting and replenishment, promotion planning, and space and assortment.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and system configuration.
- Experience operating in complex, matrixed organisations and working across multiple functions.
- Solid understanding of at least one supply chain discipline, such as demand planning, supply or inventory planning, replenishment, or promotions and forecasting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business audiences.
- Experience from a major consulting firm, or industry experience supported by a consulting background.
- Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and presenting recommendations in a clear, concise way.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
- This is an experienced hire role rather than an entry-level position.
