Anthropic is looking for an Enterprise Account Executive focused on retail to help bring its AI productivity API and SaaS products to retail organisations across EMEA. This is a foundational commercial role on a fast-growing team, and it is aimed at someone who can open new markets, win strategic enterprise business, and help retail customers adopt safe, frontier AI in practical ways. The role sits at the intersection of sales, product feedback, and market development, with a strong emphasis on consultative selling and long-term customer partnership.
In this position, you would work with retail stakeholders to show how Anthropicâs technology can support merchandising, customer experience, and store operations. You would also help shape how the company presents its value to the retail sector by working closely with go-to-market, product, and marketing colleagues. The role is designed for someone who enjoys building new opportunities, understanding complex customer environments, and turning market insight into revenue growth.
What you would do
- Build new enterprise revenue in the retail sector by introducing Anthropicâs AI products to retail organisations across EMEA.
- Win strategic deals with retail brands and help accelerate adoption of Anthropicâs safe and advanced AI capabilities.
- Own the full sales journey, beginning with outbound prospecting and continuing through qualification, negotiation, and close.
- Work through complicated retail account structures to identify the right stakeholders, explain the offering clearly, and help customers move forward successfully.
- Create and execute sales plans that reflect retail procurement processes, budget cycles, and decision timelines, with the aim of consistently achieving or exceeding quota.
- Review retail market trends, competitive conditions, and sector dynamics, then convert that understanding into targeted sales activity and campaigns.
- Identify and develop new opportunities in merchandising, e-commerce, and store operations, expanding the range of use cases for Anthropicâs products.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and go-to-market teams to refine messaging, positioning, and the overall value proposition for retail buyers.
- Engage a wide range of stakeholders, including executives, administrators, IT teams, and procurement groups, to build consensus and move deals through the organisation.
- Gather customer feedback and market insight to inform product direction and help ensure retail needs are reflected in roadmap planning and feature development.
- Continuously improve the retail sales motion by updating playbooks, templates, and best practices, and by finding ways to increase productivity and consistency across the process.
What the team is looking for
- At least eight years of B2B sales experience, ideally in SaaS, API-based products, or other emerging technologies.
- A strong track record of managing complex sales cycles in retail organisations and closing important deals by balancing technical requirements with retail business needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work through retail organisational hierarchies and procurement processes while building agreement among diverse stakeholders such as executives, administrators, and IT teams.
- Extensive experience negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements within retail procurement frameworks and policies.
- Evidence of consistently exceeding revenue targets through disciplined pipeline management and an effective sales process.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to speak to audiences ranging from merchandisers and category managers to senior executives.
- Deep understanding of retail buying behaviour, decision-making structures, and the main pain points that shape purchasing decisions.
- A strategic and analytical approach to assessing the retail market, combined with the creativity and practical execution needed to capture opportunities.
- Interest in, or experience with, advanced AI systems and how they can be applied responsibly.
- A clear commitment to ensuring frontier AI is developed safely and ethically for retail use.
- A bachelorâs degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Relevant study, training, or professional experience in a field connected to the role.
- Experience expectations will align with the internal level assigned to the position.
- Anthropic encourages people to apply even if they do not meet every qualification listed, and notes that strong candidates may still be a fit without matching every requirement exactly.
Compensation and working setup
The role offers an annual on-target earnings range of £280,000 to £330,000 GBP. For sales positions, this figure includes both base salary and the target commission or bonus component.
The working arrangement is hybrid. Staff are generally expected to spend at least 25% of their time in one of Anthropicâs offices, although some roles may require more in-office presence. This position is based in London, UK.
Benefits and additional information
- Competitive pay and a broader benefits package.
- Optional matching for charitable donations through equity-related giving.
- Generous holiday allowance.
- Parental leave support.
- Flexible working hours.
- A collaborative office environment designed to support teamwork.
- Support from an immigration lawyer when visa sponsorship is being pursued.
- Anthropic also highlights that it values diverse perspectives and encourages applicants from underrepresented backgrounds not to rule themselves out prematurely.
Application details
