This role sits within Googleâs Technical Infrastructure organization and focuses on the delivery of network capacity projects that keep Googleâs services running reliably at scale. The work centers on complex fiber and network infrastructure programs, with responsibility spanning planning, coordination, design review, vendor management, and delivery execution across multiple internal and external stakeholders. The position is based in either Dublin, Ireland or London, UK, and applicants can indicate their preferred location during the application process.
As a Technical Program Manager in this area, you would help drive infrastructure projects from the earliest stages through final delivery. The portfolio includes long-haul dark fiber, metro fiber, leased capacity, circuits, and both outside-plant and inside-plant fiber work. The role requires someone who can manage technical detail while also keeping cross-functional work organized, on schedule, and aligned with business needs.
What you will do
- Own delivery for network infrastructure initiatives from start to finish, covering long-haul dark fiber, metro fiber, leased capacity, circuits, and both outside-plant and inside-plant fiber deployments.
- Work closely with internal teams and outside organizations to define requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and keep projects progressing.
- Act as the primary vendor contact for EMEA-related activities tied to these infrastructure programs.
- Review and validate fiber engineering and design documentation, including route plans, conduit layouts, splice diagrams, rack layouts, and points where systems connect.
- Coordinate with partner teams and external parties such as municipalities, utilities, and colocation providers on all matters related to outside plant and inside plant delivery.
- Communicate clearly with technical contributors, business partners, and leadership, including explaining tradeoffs and recommendations when needed.
- Help ensure that infrastructure plans are practical, accurate, and ready for execution in a fast-moving technical environment.
What we are looking for
- A bachelorâs degree in a technical subject, or equivalent real-world experience.
- At least two years of program management experience in a cross-functional setting.
- Direct experience in an outside-plant telecommunications or network infrastructure role, such as OSP engineering, fiber project management, or OSP construction management.
- Hands-on familiarity with inside-plant fiber infrastructure, including design, installation, and testing in environments such as data centers, in-line amplifier sites, or colocation facilities.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and external stakeholders in a technically complex delivery environment.
- Preferred formal project management credentials such as PMP, PRINCE2, PMI Agile certification, or Certified Scrum Master.
- Preferred experience using industry tools for project management, network acquisition, and workflow tracking, including platforms like Salesforce and Pega.
- Preferred experience with agile methods or similar process-improvement frameworks, especially where cross-functional flexibility and continuous improvement are important.
- Preferred experience across both outside plant and inside plant fiber infrastructure.
- Preferred understanding of dark fiber, network infrastructure, inside-plant and outside-plant architecture, network topology, and field deployment.
- The role is described as mid-level, suited to someone who can drive progress, solve problems, and mentor less experienced colleagues while bringing deeper expertise in the area.

- For Ireland, the posted salary range is â¬94,000 to â¬96,000.
- The package also includes a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
