This role sits within Capgemini Invent’s AI and Digital Factory area and is part of the Digital Excellence community. The team works on technology-led transformation for clients across a range of industries, with a strong focus on user-centred design, critical thinking, problem solving, and the creation of digital services and products that deliver measurable value. The position is aimed at someone who can combine business analysis skills with technical depth, helping shape solutions that are robust, scalable, and aligned to client and user needs.

The wider AI and Digital Factory group supports organisations in identifying and prioritising AI and data opportunities, building automation and generative AI into digital platforms and architectures, and delivering more intelligent, scalable, insight-driven solutions. The role is therefore well suited to someone who is comfortable working at the intersection of business, technology, architecture, and data.

What you will do

  • Convert business goals and client requirements into technical features and user stories that can guide product development and delivery.
  • Act as the connection point between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring that technical solutions reflect both organisational objectives and user needs.
  • Contribute to technical design and delivery work, including system integration thinking, database-related tasks, and infrastructure awareness to support dependable back-end functionality.
  • Use knowledge of software architecture and backend frameworks to help shape technical requirements and solution direction.
  • Analyse systems and data to identify pain points, improvement opportunities, and areas where better information can support decision-making.
  • Support product roadmap planning, prioritisation, and backlog refinement alongside product owners, developers, architects, and quality assurance specialists.
  • Help facilitate delivery practices that support CI/CD pipelines and efficient release management, drawing on understanding of IT delivery frameworks and DevOps approaches.
  • Contribute across the full delivery lifecycle, from early research and solution design through development, testing, and release.
  • Work on client projects across multiple sectors, helping deliver technology initiatives that improve operational efficiency, enhance user experience, and create business value.
  • Take part in the growth of the Digital Excellence community by sharing knowledge, supporting capability development, and contributing to internal collaboration.

What the team environment is like

You would be joining a growing community of technical business analysts and digital specialists who actively share expertise and learn from one another. The culture is described as collaborative and intellectually curious, with a strong interest in building digital services and products that are practical, well-designed, and grounded in both business insight and technical understanding.

The role can involve work on highly important products, including solutions that support critical national infrastructure and serve large user bases, as well as proof-of-concept work that explores new ideas and technologies. This means the work may range from established delivery to experimentation and innovation.

What you need to bring

  • Experience in the technical design and development of technology-based products.
  • Experience working with technical architecture and producing technical documentation or writing.
  • Experience with data analysis, data modelling, and visualisation tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Willingness to work with database schemas and carry out data manipulation tasks such as cleansing, transformation, and aggregation.
  • Ability to support delivery end to end, from research and solution design through development, testing, and release.
  • Ability to create, refine, and prioritise an agile backlog for technical implementation.
  • Comfort working with different delivery methods, including Scrum, SAFe, and Waterfall.
  • Interest in helping grow team capability and contributing to the wider community.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments where priorities shift and ambiguity is common.

Additional experience that would be helpful

  • Experience in public sector, utilities, financial services, consumer products, or retail.
  • Experience supporting internal activities such as recruitment, client development, mentoring, or training.
  • Professional certifications in business analysis, agile delivery, or technical disciplines.
  • Awareness of current trends in AI, automation, and data-driven technology delivery.

  • Understanding of how data supports AI solutions, including data quality, pipelines, and modelling concepts.
  • Experience with or interest in generative AI tools such as copilots, automation tools, or content and code generation.
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to support analysis, documentation, or technical design.
  • Awareness of AI ethics, governance, and responsible use.
