This opportunity is for a senior front-end compiler engineer focused on automotive software. The role sits within a growing compiler-tooling business that supports autonomous-driving organisations in building software that is safer, compliant, and ready for production use. The company already serves customers in the automotive sector and is expanding its compiler and code-analysis capabilities to meet the strict safety and compliance demands of autonomous vehicles.

The position is fully remote and open to candidates based anywhere in the UK or the EU. The advertised salary is £80,000.

What you will do

  • Develop front-end compiler tooling and static-analysis capabilities for C and C++ projects.
  • Design and implement new compiler checks, diagnostics, and code-quality rules.
  • Build mechanisms that enforce automotive coding standards and compliance requirements.
  • Work directly with Clang, LLVM, and associated compiler infrastructure.
  • Enhance the performance, accuracy, and scalability of analysis tools.
  • Help autonomous-driving customers address complex software-compliance needs.
  • Collaborate with compiler, tooling, and automotive engineering colleagues.
  • Contribute to decisions that shape the technical direction of the analysis platform.

What the employer is looking for

  • Strong professional background in C and C++ development.
  • Hands-on experience with front-end compiler work or static-analysis tooling.
  • Practical knowledge of Clang, LLVM, or similar compiler ecosystems.
  • Solid understanding of abstract syntax trees, parsing, semantic analysis, and compiler diagnostics.
  • Experience creating coding rules, compliance checks, or guideline enforcement tooling.
  • Understanding of software quality, safety, and maintainability, particularly in demanding or regulated environments.
