FAE Director Semiconductor IP Remote UK or EU Overview

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced field applications professional who wants to shape customer success and technical strategy in a fast-growing semiconductor IP company. The business develops advanced silicon IP for next-generation artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications, and the role sits at the centre of its customer-facing technical organisation.

In this position, you would lead an established field applications engineering team covering Europe and APAC. You would be responsible for guiding the team’s technical direction, supporting strategic customers, and helping the company secure important design wins. The role is highly collaborative and involves close partnership with sales, product, and research and development teams so that customer needs are translated into practical technical solutions and future product plans.

What you would do

• Provide leadership to a field applications engineering team operating across Europe and APAC.
• Define and drive the technical approach used to support customers and win new business.
• Work alongside sales, product, and R&D colleagues to support key accounts and major opportunities.
• Support customers throughout the full engagement process, including early technical discussions, pre-sales activity, implementation support, and post-sales follow-up.
• Help turn customer feedback into input for the product roadmap and broader business strategy.
• Contribute to the success of a company building advanced semiconductor IP for AI and high-performance computing markets.

What the employer is looking for

• A technical degree, or equivalent background, in electronic engineering.
• Previous leadership experience managing field applications engineers or a similar technical customer-facing team.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor technology, SoC architecture, or silicon IP.
• Practical understanding of digital design processes, including ASIC, RTL, and architecture concepts.
• Experience working directly with customers in both pre-sales and post-sales contexts.
• The ability to lead in an international environment and travel regularly for customer and team engagement.
• Eligibility to work remotely from the UK, France, Spain, the Netherlands, or Czechia.

Location and working style

The role is remote, but it must be based in one of the following countries: the UK, France, Spain, the Netherlands, or Czechia. The position also involves international travel of around 30 to 40 percent.
