This role sits within Googleâs Trust and Safety organization, the group focused on protecting users and reducing abuse across Google products. The team brings together analysts, policy specialists, engineers, and program managers to help make the internet safer, with work spanning areas such as malware, spam, and account hijacking. In this position, you would help coordinate compliance-readiness work by managing programs, aligning stakeholders, and keeping delivery on track in a complex, fast-moving environment.
What you will do
- Own the overall view of project objectives and deliverables, map them to a timeline, and use the roadmap to set expectations with stakeholders while coordinating the resources needed to move work forward.
- Partner with colleagues and stakeholders to clarify problems, define program goals, secure the most important deliverables, and discuss the broader impact of the program.
- Carry out risk identification and risk assessment across areas such as budget, schedule, staffing, and technical dependencies, then develop mitigation plans and keep monitoring how those risks evolve and affect program outcomes.
- Create and maintain operating processes together with stakeholders, make sure teams follow those processes, identify sponsors and other key stakeholders, secure the necessary resources, and ensure the work remains aligned with privacy and compliance obligations.
- Spot opportunities to improve how work is done, put those improvements into practice, and support adoption of the new or updated processes across the relevant teams.
What you need
- A bachelorâs degree or equivalent hands-on professional experience.
- Seven or more years working in program management or project management.
- Seven or more years leading projects or programs that involve multiple functions or teams.
- Experience owning outcomes, making decisions, handling ambiguity, and influencing stakeholders in a domain where you have deep expertise.
- Preferred: a formal program management certification.
- Preferred: experience doing program management work in a technology company.
- Preferred: prior experience managing stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to run and coordinate multiple large-scale programs at once, especially when requirements are shifting, different stakeholders have competing inputs, and outside deadlines must be met.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise narratives for presentations, reports, and other business communications.
- Ability to adjust messaging for different audiences so that communications inform, align, and influence the people involved.
