As a technical program manager in this area, you would be expected to guide complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives from concept through execution. What you would do
- Work alongside teams responsible for physical assets, including data center and network groups, to assess infrastructure options and recommend the most suitable solutions based on technical needs, market conditions, and business objectives.
- Coordinate with internal partners in cloud engineering, networking, security, finance, and legal, as well as external planners and utility providers, to deliver complete infrastructure strategies end to end.
- Review global cloud market trends such as hyperscale growth, hybrid and multi-cloud adoption, and changing demand for cloud services, then use those insights to guide infrastructure planning decisions.
- Turn complex technical requirements for cloud infrastructure, including power density, cooling, network connectivity, latency, security, and compliance, into concrete specifications that can be used for data center and network planning.
- Design or help create new products when existing capabilities are not enough to meet future infrastructure needs tied to Cloud and AI expansion.
What the role requires
- A bachelorâs degree in computer science, engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least five years of experience in planning, evaluating, and negotiating data center or network infrastructure, including experience supporting new region launches.
- Practical experience assessing cloud infrastructure constraints such as power density, thermal and cooling requirements, fiber connectivity, and latency, and using that analysis to recommend data center or network footprint solutions.
- Experience leading cross-functional programs and influencing executives and stakeholders at a senior level across global organizations.
- Preferred background in data center expansion or network infrastructure planning within a hyperscale cloud environment.
- Preferred experience with technical site evaluation, infrastructure strategy, or region launches in markets across the Middle East, Africa, or Europe.
- Preferred ability to build financial models, compare total cost of ownership options, and develop cost-saving strategies for physical data center or network assets.
- Preferred track record of working independently as the primary technical contact, managing programs with remote oversight, and operating with minimal direct supervision.
