PagerDuty is looking for a Business Development Representative to join a collaborative, customer-oriented sales development team in London. This role sits within the Sales organization and reports to a Sales Development Manager. It is a chance to work closely with Account Executives, help build pipeline, and support territory growth through proactive outreach and relationship-building.
The company describes itself as a global leader in AI-driven digital operations. Its platform helps organizations detect, diagnose, and resolve issues automatically, using AI agents, automated workflows, and more than 750 integrations. The business serves a large share of the Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 and works with well-known customers across many industries. The team is growing quickly and is hiring people with strong AI and commercial skills across multiple functions.
What the role involves
This position is centered on outbound business development and early-stage sales engagement. The representative will be the first point of contact for target accounts and will use a modern prospecting approach to generate interest, educate prospects, and create opportunities for the wider sales team. The role is designed for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, high-volume environment and wants to contribute directly to pipeline creation and revenue growth.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in a way that reflects PagerDutyâs value-led sales approach. That means focusing on the business outcomes and problem-solving benefits of the platform, rather than simply listing product features. The role also requires comfort with structured sales methodologies and the ability to quickly adopt the companyâs Command of the Message framework and other customer-centric selling techniques.
Core responsibilities
- Act as the initial sales contact for target accounts and represent the PagerDuty brand professionally.
- Use outbound prospecting to capture attention, educate potential customers, and build interest in the platform.
- Partner with Account Executives to develop pipeline and support territory coverage.
- Explain the business value of PagerDutyâs products and services in a way that connects to customer needs and challenges.
- Assess buying interest by clearly communicating the companyâs value proposition.
- Learn and apply the Command of the Message approach and other solution-selling methods.
- Build genuine relationships with prospects and customers over time.
- Work toward and consistently deliver against sales targets.
- Stay organized, manage time well, and collaborate effectively in a busy sales environment.
- Prepare carefully for meetings and presentations, keep records and information accurate, and follow through on commitments.
- Use best-practice account development techniques to reach enterprise accounts through phone, email, video, and social platforms.
- Run discovery conversations with both individual practitioners and management-level stakeholders.
- Use tools such as Salesforce, Sales Navigator, Gong Engage, and Demandbase to improve productivity and sales focus.
What PagerDuty is looking for
The company wants someone with strong communication skills, good relationship-building ability, and the confidence to engage prospective customers effectively. Because the role is in a fast-moving sales setting, the candidate should be organized, resilient, and able to prioritize multiple opportunities at once. A genuine interest in technology is also important.
Experience in outbound prospecting is required, and the role calls for 1 to 2 years in that kind of work. German fluency is mandatory. PagerDuty also prefers candidates who have prior sales development experience, have used Salesforce.com, and hold a BA or BS degree.
Working arrangement and location
PagerDuty uses a flexible hybrid model and values in-person collaboration as part of its culture. For this London-based role, the employee is expected to work from the Moorgate office one to two days per week. The company says it believes co-located collaboration helps strengthen relationships, improve innovation, and speed up learning.
The broader company operates a hybrid model across several major cities, including London, and notes that candidates must live in an eligible location for the role. The posting also states that there are certain geographic restrictions for employment in some regions.
Rewards and benefits
PagerDuty says its total rewards approach is competitive and aligned with local laws and regulations. The package may include salary, benefits, and other rewards depending on role, region, and tenure.
- Competitive salary.
- Comprehensive health and welfare benefits.
- Flexible work arrangements.
- Company equity, where applicable.

About the company culture
PagerDuty emphasizes a values-driven culture and says those values shape how employees support customers, work with colleagues, build products, and foster belonging. The company also outlines leadership expectations for people managers, focused on accountability and performance, though this role is not a management position.
The organization highlights its recognition as a workplace and its standing in technology and product review rankings. It also notes that it is committed to equal opportunity employment, reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities, and privacy protections for applicants.
