Capgemini Invent is looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join its Cloud & AI Strategy practice. The role sits within a team that combines strategy, creativity, science, data, and technology to help clients tackle complex transformation challenges. The focus is on helping organisations move beyond basic cloud adoption and into a more advanced stage of modernisation, where applications, data, and platforms are reshaped to support AI, improve innovation, and reduce both cost and risk.
In this position, you would work with clients on cloud and AI strategy topics that connect technology decisions to business outcomes. The work is aimed at organisations that want to modernise in a way that prepares them for AI and creates a coherent enterprise technology picture across cloud environments. The role also involves translating technical and strategic thinking into clear messages that senior executives can use to make decisions.
What you would do
- Help shape cloud and AI modernisation strategies that go beyond migration and focus on modernising applications, data, and platforms so clients can scale AI, drive innovation, and lower cost and risk.
- Advise on multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud strategy, including workload placement, portability, sovereignty, and how AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments can be brought together into one joined-up enterprise view.
- Build executive-ready storytelling that brings together strategy, operating model, economics, and architecture into a clear narrative for senior stakeholders.
- At Consultant level, lead a workstream, produce strong deliverables, contribute to strategic direction, and help shape propositions.
- At Senior Consultant level, design and lead projects or multiple workstreams and take ownership of parts of the proposition.
- Contribute to business development through proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitches, and hosting clients at events.
- Support internal practice development through campaign work, internal think tanks, whitepapers, operations, recruitment, team events, and development of new offerings.
- Take part in learning and development activities, including training and certifications, to build your own skills and support the needs of the business.
- Work collaboratively in a matrixed organisation and help secure support from colleagues when selling and delivering consulting solutions.
- Be prepared for assignments that may involve travel or periods away from home at short notice, while being based from London, Manchester, or Glasgow.
What the team is looking for
- Experience in at least two of these areas: cloud strategy, application and cloud modernisation, cloud operating model design, FinOps and cloud economics, or multi-cloud/hybrid strategy, ideally gained in large or mid-sized organisations.
- A strong understanding of how generative AI and agentic AI are changing cloud strategy, along with practical curiosity about using AI tools in your own working methods.
- Excellent structured problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly, turning ambiguity into concise, executive-level material.
- Experience in a major consulting firm, or in industry with a consulting background, plus experience contributing to propositions and business development.
- A proven ability to succeed in a matrixed environment and to build commitment from peers when selling and delivering consulting work.
- Cloud certifications in AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform are preferred, though not mandatory.
- A profile that fits either Consultant or Senior Consultant level, with the Senior Consultant version expected to take on greater leadership and ownership.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and a genuine interest in helping organisations transform through technology.
