The AWS Professional Services team is looking for an experienced Delivery Consultant to help customers design, implement, and operate solutions on AWS. This role is centered on guiding organizations through their cloud journey by combining technical depth with customer-facing consulting skills. You will work with customers to understand their goals, assess their current environments, and shape AWS solutions that are secure, scalable, and aligned with both technical requirements and business outcomes.
In this position, you will act as a trusted advisor throughout the delivery lifecycle. That means helping customers choose effective migration approaches, applying AWS best practices, supporting implementation, and keeping projects on track by identifying and managing risks. The role calls for someone who can translate customer needs into practical cloud architectures and who is comfortable advising on both established AWS capabilities and newer technologies.
The AWS Professional Services organization is a worldwide group of specialists that helps customers achieve business results through the AWS Cloud. The team partners with customer organizations and the AWS Partner Network to deliver enterprise cloud initiatives, and it also provides targeted guidance through specialty practices covering different technologies, industries, and solution areas.
What you will do
- Design and deliver advanced AWS solutions that are scalable, secure, and tailored to each customerâs needs.
- Work with stakeholders to collect requirements, review existing infrastructure, and define migration strategies to AWS.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during project execution and delivery.
- Advise customers on industry developments, emerging technologies, and innovative ways to use the cloud.
- Lead implementation activities while ensuring solutions follow AWS best practices and perform effectively.
- Identify and manage delivery risks so projects stay aligned with customer goals.
- Share expertise across the organization by mentoring others, running training, and creating reusable materials or assets.
What the role involves day to day
You will spend your time working closely with customers and internal teams to move projects forward, solve technical problems, and help shape cloud solutions that meet real business needs. The job combines architecture, implementation support, advisory work, and collaboration, with a strong emphasis on customer success and practical delivery.

You will join AWS Global Services, which brings together experts who help customers design, build, operate, and secure cloud environments. Within this broader organization, AWS Professional Services supports customers with implementation and transformation work, while other AWS groups contribute training, support, managed services, and security assurance. The posting also highlights AWSâs focus on inclusion, mentorship, and continuous learning.
AWS says it values people with different backgrounds and career paths, and encourages applicants to apply even if they do not meet every preferred qualification. The company describes its culture as one that welcomes curiosity, connection, and fresh ideas, and it points to employee-led and company-supported affinity groups and inclusion events as part of that environment.
The posting also emphasizes professional growth and work-life harmony. AWS describes a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing, mentoring, and career development resources, along with a flexible working culture intended to support balance between work and personal life.
Experience and qualifications
- Background as a technical specialist in solution design and architecture.
- Experience with databases and data technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or Kinesis.
- Experience consulting on, designing, and implementing serverless distributed solutions.
- Experience with cloud-based systems, whether on AWS or another comparable platform, including systems, networking, and operating systems knowledge.
- Experience in customer-facing roles involving complex, large-scale projects and project management.
- Knowledge of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies.
- Experience building machine learning and AI solutions at very large scale.
- Preferred: a PhD in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related subject, or equivalent experience working with or evaluating AI systems.
- Preferred: experience building data applications on distributed systems such as EMR, Spark, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Pig, or Hive.
