The position is aimed at an experienced transformation leader who can combine deep sector knowledge with strong consulting, digital, and AI leadership to shape strategy, win work, lead delivery, and build the firm’s future capability in AI-enabled business transformation.

The team works with organisations across energy networks, energy retail, energy markets, water, and nuclear. The wider context for the role is a market where clients are investing heavily in digital change, AI, and operational modernisation, and are looking for support to turn those investments into practical business value. Capgemini’s position, sector depth, transformation experience, and technology partnerships are presented as key strengths in helping clients make that shift.

What you will do

  • Help drive business growth by contributing to major opportunities, proposals, and pursuits across AI, digital, and broader business transformation.
  • Create new consulting opportunities by developing relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
  • Shape market-leading propositions, service offerings, and thought leadership that strengthen the firm’s presence in the sector.
  • Build strategic relationships with technology partners and ecosystem organisations that support delivery and growth.
  • Support account expansion and growth across Energy & Utilities clients.
  • Lead major AI-enabled transformation programmes and strategic advisory assignments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across business, technology, and operations functions.
  • Define AI strategies, target operating models, implementation roadmaps, and business cases.
  • Help clients establish AI centres of excellence, governance frameworks, and approaches for scaling adoption.
  • Support the design and implementation of digital, data, and AI-led transformation.
  • Contribute to internal capability building across AI consulting, business transformation, and the Future Utility proposition.
  • Take part in practice operations, recruitment, campaign development, and proposition creation.
  • Create reusable assets, accelerators, and intellectual property that can be used across the practice.
  • Work across Capgemini Invent and the wider Capgemini Group to support collaboration between practices.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues, help develop future leaders, and contribute to talent development activity.
  • Support internal learning pathways, development programmes, and certification initiatives.
  • Develop external-facing insights, industry perspectives, whitepapers, and sector research.
  • Represent Capgemini at conferences, client events, and industry forums to build its reputation in AI-enabled transformation.

What the firm is looking for

  • Substantial experience in consulting and/or Energy & Utilities, with strong knowledge of one or more of energy networks, water, energy retail, or asset and capital delivery.
  • Strong consulting credentials, ideally gained in a major consulting firm and/or through senior industry leadership roles.
  • A proven record of shaping and delivering large-scale business, digital, and AI-enabled transformation programmes.
  • Experience building trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and executive teams.
  • Experience creating propositions, services, and market offerings.
  • A track record of leading and growing high-performing consulting teams.
  • Strong understanding of the opportunities and risks associated with AI adoption in regulated environments.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a clear interest in growth, innovation, and transformation.
  • A commitment to developing people and helping build the next generation of consulting leaders.
  • Subject matter expertise and intellectual capital across advisory, consulting, and transformation topics such as AI strategy, AI adoption, AI operating models, governance, centres of excellence, business and digital transformation, operating model change, asset and capital performance improvement, future workforce and organisational change, AI-enabled products and services, and emerging technologies including generative AI, agentic AI, automation, digital twins, IoT, and advanced analytics.

Working environment and culture

The organisation describes its culture as collaborative rather than competitive, with an emphasis on teamwork, honesty, boldness, and entrepreneurship. It presents itself as a place where supportive challenge, strong colleagues, and room to shape the future are part of the day-to-day experience.

Capgemini also highlights its commitment to diversity and inclusion, stating that it actively works to make inclusion real in practice and aims to create an environment where people can bring their whole selves to work. The company says it wants employees to enjoy a healthy work-life balance and that flexible working is embedded in how it operates.

Location and working style

The office base for this position can be London, Manchester, or Glasgow. However, the role requires full flexibility on assignment location, as work may involve periods away from home at short notice. The organisation says hybrid working is part of its standard approach and that flexible working arrangements are available to UK employees.

Pay, wellbeing, and inclusion

The package includes flexible benefits that can be chosen to suit personal circumstances, along with a variable pay component linked to grade and to company and individual performance.

Employee wellbeing is described as a priority. Support includes trained Mental Health Champions across business areas and access to wellbeing apps such as Thrive and Peppy.

Capgemini states that it is a Disability Confident Employer at Level 2. As part of its inclusive recruitment approach, candidates who declare a disability and meet the minimum essential criteria will be offered an interview, provided they opt in during the application process.

The company also says it is focused on using technology for positive social impact, including reducing its own carbon footprint and improving access to the digital world. It notes that it has been recognised by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the world’s most ethical companies.
