Expedia Group is seeking a commercially focused, strategic people leader to head up Market Management for the UK and Ireland. This position is centered on leading a team that manages lodging partner performance, strengthens commercial execution, and develops smarter, more scalable ways of working across the portfolio. The role blends leadership of managers and individual contributors with direct commercial ownership, requiring someone who can turn market insight into practical partner strategies, clear account plans, and measurable business outcomes.
The role is also increasingly shaped by the use of standardised operating rhythms, actionable insights, and AI-enabled tools that help the team spend less time on manual preparation and more time on high-value commercial work. You will be responsible for guiding the team, developing strong talent, and driving consistent performance across the UK and Ireland.
What you will be responsible for
- Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing Market Management team across the London, Edinburgh, and Dublin offices, while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous development.
- Establishing clear priorities and operating expectations so the team executes effectively against commercial objectives, partner plans, and scorecard results.
- Improving partner performance by helping the team identify and act on the most important opportunities, including pricing competitiveness, promotions, availability, visibility, and commercial activation.
- Reviewing and strengthening account and market plans so that partner actions are clearly tied to measurable business outcomes.
- Running a disciplined management cadence with structured reviews, practical insights, and clear accountability to improve consistency and execution across markets.
- Using data, market context, and business judgement to make decisions, prioritise resources, and keep the team focused on the highest-value opportunities.
- Building strong strategic relationships with key partners and senior stakeholders so Expedia Group is seen as a trusted and essential growth partner.
- Coaching leaders and team members in executive communication, stakeholder management, objection handling, negotiation, and value-based selling.
- Promoting scalable ways of working, including AI-enabled tools and systems that improve preparation, insight generation, partner conversations, and commercial planning.
- Working in close partnership with Product, Analytics, Marketing, Revenue Management, Supply, and Operations to unlock growth for partners and the market.
- Identifying external trends, competitor activity, and market signals early, then translating those insights into strategic actions for the team and portfolio.
- Creating opportunities for talent mobility, succession planning, and leadership development across the organisation.
What success in the role looks like
- The team consistently delivers against commercial goals and scorecard commitments with strong execution discipline.
- Market and account plans are clear, actionable, and directly linked to measurable partner outcomes.
- Teams use data and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual preparation and improve the quality of partner conversations and decisions.
- Partner relationships become stronger, more strategic, and more focused on long-term mutual value.
- Leaders across the team grow their capability, retain talent, and create an environment where people can do their best work.
- Cross-functional partners view the team as credible, aligned, and effective in delivering business results.
Who this role is suited to
Expedia Group is looking for someone with substantial commercial leadership experience, ideally gained in account management, partner growth, sales, or market management. The successful candidate should also be credible with senior internal and external stakeholders and able to influence through insight, clarity, and a strong understanding of business value. A strong interest in building scalable systems, improving working practices, and helping teams focus on the most impactful work is important, as is comfort in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change and sound judgement matters.
