Bloomberg’s Electronic Trading Solutions team brings together the company’s cross-asset electronic trading platforms into a single group focused on delivering trading tools and analytics to both buy-side and sell-side clients. These solutions sit at the center of Bloomberg’s network and help clients stage, monitor, trade, clear, allocate, and carry out transaction cost analysis from one platform. The team also supports workflow capture, terminal retention, and growth in market share, while offering revenue-generating products that connect with both Bloomberg and non-Bloomberg order management systems across the market.

Role overview

This position sits in London and covers the EMEA region. It is designed for someone who can help drive Bloomberg’s strategic expansion across the UK real money investor community by working closely with some of the most influential asset managers and institutional investors in the market. As fixed income electronic trading remains a major strategic priority for Bloomberg, the role plays an important part in building on the momentum and investment already behind this area.

The successful candidate will focus on strengthening relationships with key market participants, increasing adoption of Bloomberg’s electronic trading solutions, and influencing how leading asset managers access liquidity and execute trades across different markets. In partnership with colleagues in Bloomberg Enterprise Sales, the role also involves identifying opportunities to introduce broader Enterprise Solutions and Electronic Trading Services capabilities to strategic accounts.

This is an opportunity to become highly knowledgeable in fixed income electronic trading while serving as a trusted advisor to important buy-side clients. The role requires someone who can position Bloomberg’s trading solutions to support the growth of these relationships while also maintaining a broad understanding of the wider ETS offering to create a joined-up and effective client engagement approach.

What you will do

  • Develop a strong understanding of Bloomberg’s products and how they connect with financial markets, then use that knowledge to position the right solutions for clients.
  • Work with clients to identify and close workflow gaps, helping increase terminal usage and adoption of key Bloomberg products.
  • Take ownership of the coverage region and proactively manage the book of business, including watching for users at risk and taking steps to defend Bloomberg’s relationship.
  • Run adoption and usage campaigns, both on your own initiative and in response to management priorities, to help meet business goals.
  • Build a deep understanding of Bloomberg customer types, including how they make money, how they carry out their work, and how they use technology.
  • Show clients how relevant Bloomberg solutions work and explain the workflows in a way that clearly addresses the needs of each customer type.
  • Bring forward creative ideas that anticipate client requirements and respond to emerging needs.
  • Take part in new projects that support both departmental objectives and wider company initiatives.
  • Use your understanding of the market environment to support commercial conversations with clients and internal stakeholders.

What Bloomberg is looking for

  • Extensive experience working with this type of client base, ideally including tier-one asset managers.
  • Practical experience with Bloomberg’s electronic trading platform and terminal, or similar tools, along with relevant asset-class functionality.
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to work effectively in a non-hierarchical environment where titles are not the focus.
  • A strong collaborative attitude and a willingness to support colleagues.
  • Excellent presentation, training, and communication skills.
