An opportunity has come up for an Electronics Engineer to join an expanding engineering team in the Colchester area. The position focuses on the design, development, and verification of electronic systems for sophisticated products. The work is hands-on and technically broad, covering circuit design through to prototype testing and validation, while also requiring close collaboration with other engineering disciplines to deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes.

What you will do

• Create and develop electronic circuitry for analogue, digital, and mixed-signal designs.
• Produce schematics, complete PCB design work, and choose appropriate components for the application.
• Support prototype build, initial hardware bring-up, fault finding, debugging, and lab-based validation.
• Partner with software, mechanical, and test engineering teams to ensure the full system works together as intended.
• Help prepare technical documentation, take part in design review meetings, and support activities linked to product compliance.

What the employer is looking for

• A degree in electronic engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar subject, or equivalent relevant experience gained in industry.
• Practical background in circuit design, PCB layout, and laboratory testing.
• Useful knowledge of communication standards such as SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet would be an advantage.
• Good problem-solving ability and a methodical approach to technical issues.
• Confidence working independently when needed, while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
