Principal EDA Engineer Overview

This is a senior opportunity based in London for an experienced EDA specialist to join a well-funded deep-tech company developing next-generation quantum computing hardware and software. The role is hybrid, and it combines technical leadership, hands-on EDA support, and close collaboration with design, layout, and foundry partners.

What you will do

• Take ownership of the company’s EDA environment, including setting it up, supporting it, and keeping it running effectively across the organisation.
• Manage EDA team capacity and allocate resources across several projects and engineering teams.
• Partner with design and layout engineers throughout the tape-out flow, ensuring the EDA side supports smooth progress from design through to manufacturing handoff.
• Serve as an important interface with the foundry for ASIC fabrication workflows.
• Support fabrication deliveries and help ensure all required sign-off conditions are satisfied before release.
• Contribute to a cutting-edge research and development setting focused on solving some of today’s most challenging technical problems.

What the company is looking for

• A highly experienced CAD/EDA professional with substantial expertise in analog CAD support.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain analog design flows for ASIC development.
• Direct experience working with foundries and understanding how to manage that relationship in an ASIC environment.
• Knowledge of fabrication deliverables and the sign-off criteria needed for successful manufacturing handoff.
• Practical experience using Cadence Virtuoso, Siemens Calibre, and Keysight ADS.
• Programming and automation skills using scripting tools and languages such as Python, Skill, Bash, and Perl.
• The capability to operate at principal level and contribute across multiple projects and teams in a growing technical organisation.
