This is a hands-on full stack development opportunity within a company that creates enterprise software for demanding, highly controlled environments such as defence and aerospace. The product is a training and resource management platform that supports complex operational lifecycles, so the work is focused on core business functionality rather than surface-level web content. Reliability, compliance, auditability, and traceability are central to the role.
The business has recently secured several new contracts and is now moving through a period of strong growth. Because of that expansion, they are looking for developers who can make an immediate contribution and help deliver robust, high-quality software at pace.
What you will do
- Build new product features and improve existing functionality in an enterprise application used in regulated, high-stakes settings.
- Work on software where quality, traceability, and dependable behaviour are essential.
- Contribute as a practical, delivery-focused engineer in a remote-first team.
- If you are hired at mid-level, your main focus will be feature development and enhancement work.
- If you are hired at senior level, you will take ownership of important areas of the product and drive work from early design through to release.
- Develop within a complex application environment, including systems that are commonly deployed in private cloud infrastructure.
- Write code that follows structured, maintainable design approaches.
- Take part in pull request-based code reviews.
- Use unit testing as part of everyday development, with test-driven development preferred where it makes sense pragmatically.
- Work independently while still collaborating effectively with the wider engineering team.
- For senior-level work, get up to speed quickly in an established codebase and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Technology and engineering approach
- Backend development is based on .NET and C#.
- The frontend uses Vue.js, although experience with React is considered transferable.
- JavaScript is part of the frontend stack.
- Unit testing is expected.
- Test-driven development is preferred, but the team takes a pragmatic approach rather than insisting on dogma.
- Code quality is supported through pull request reviews.
- The team values structured, maintainable design patterns and clean application architecture.

- There is an initial onboarding period on site in Oxfordshire.

Package and progression
- The salary range is £40,000 to £65,000.
- Exceptional candidates may be considered above that range.
- The company is scaling after recent contract wins, so there is strong growth momentum.
- Although immediate leadership duties are not part of the role, there is a clear path for progression over the next 6 to 12 months as the team grows.
