General Manager, UK Overview

This role is a senior leadership position for the London market, which is described as the company’s largest and most strategically important business. The successful candidate will take ownership of a market that is nearing $100M in annual gross bookings and revenue, with responsibility for more than 1,200 chauffeurs and four teams reporting into the role. The position sits close to the CEO/founder and executive leadership team, giving the holder the ability to move quickly while also having the authority and support to make meaningful decisions.

The business operates around the clock and serves demanding customers, so the role calls for energy, resilience, commitment, and a strong desire to deliver excellent results consistently.

What you will do

• Own the London P&L and be accountable for the financial performance of the market.
• Manage the offline product elements, including pricing decisions, supply availability, and fleet composition.
• Lead four local functions: Driver Operations, Quality and Training through the Chauffeur Academy, Sales for Wheely for Business, and Marketing.
• Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities that can expand the business, including partnerships and other growth channels.
• Work with the central Product team to improve the experience for both passengers and chauffeurs.
• Develop and steer the regulatory approach for London, where licensing and compliance are especially complex.
• Act as an external representative for the company in media, partnership discussions, and engagement with key stakeholders.
• Collaborate directly with the CEO/founder and the wider executive team on high-impact decisions and strategic priorities.

What the company is looking for

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in STEM or Economics from a top-tier university.
• At least 10 years of total professional experience.
• At least 5 years spent in investment banking, strategy consulting, or a high-growth technology environment.
• Strong leadership skills and a track record of managing teams effectively.
• Excellent analytical ability and a structured approach to solving problems.
• Experience working from Central London.
• Comfort with an office-based setup that requires at least four days per week onsite.

Working arrangement

This is an office-based role in West London, specifically referenced in the application as London Hammersmith. The expectation is to be onsite at least four days each week, with one remote day available at the candidate’s discretion. The schedule also includes flexible start and finish times.
