The successful person will work closely with business and technology stakeholders across underwriting, finance, digital, and enterprise architecture functions, helping turn complex business needs into clear, implementation-ready outputs.

The work is centred on the full insurance lifecycle, including policy, billing, and claims. The role calls for someone who can operate confidently in Agile delivery environments, understand how Guidewire products support insurance operations, and translate business needs into structured documentation and practical solution guidance for delivery teams.

What you will do

  • Run client meetings focused on requirements, and lead workshops, interviews, and process discovery sessions for transformation initiatives.
  • Assess the customer’s current functional landscape and produce business requirement documents.
  • Write business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria in a form that delivery teams can use directly.
  • Explain business needs to development and QA teams so that requirements are converted accurately into functional solutions.
  • Work with customer business teams to prepare UAT test cases and support user acceptance testing.
  • Partner with testers and UAT participants to answer requirement-related questions and help move defects to closure more quickly.

  • Make sure business requirements remain aligned with Guidewire XCenter configuration and development work.
  • Analyse business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to automate or improve them.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to define business rules, workflows, and operating guidelines.
  • Help ensure the proposed solution fits regulatory expectations and operational best practice.
  • Support the definition of KPIs, SLAs, and performance measures.
  • Map requirements to Guidewire ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, and BillingCenter capabilities.
  • Define requirements across the policy lifecycle, including quote, bind, issue, endorsements, and renewals.
  • Define requirements across the billing lifecycle, including invoicing, payments, commissions, and collections.
  • Define requirements across the claims lifecycle, including FNOL, adjudication, settlement, and recovery.
  • Support integrations between Guidewire XCenters and external systems.
  • Work with developers and architects to shape functional solution design and system behaviour.
  • Promote the use of standard Guidewire features and reduce unnecessary customisation.
  • Define requirements for entities, workflows, activities, validations, assignment rules, and integrations.
  • Support configuration and development teams with clarifications, solution walkthroughs, and requirement refinements.
  • Serve as the main contact point between business stakeholders, IT teams, and delivery teams.
  • Lead discussions with SMEs, product owners, and client stakeholders.
  • Communicate business flows, functional designs, and system impacts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide regular updates on requirement status, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Help secure stakeholder alignment and formal sign-off on requirements and solution design.
  • Review and support SIT, UAT, and regression testing scenarios to ensure they reflect the business requirements.
  • Review test cases, test data, and expected outcomes.
  • Support defect triage, root-cause analysis, and tracking through to resolution.
  • Ensure testing covers the full scope of the requirements.
  • Maintain project artefacts such as requirements documentation, process flows, and audit records.
