This is a high-impact marketing leadership role for a completely new business initiative within Amazon. The position calls for an entrepreneurial, builder-minded leader who can create momentum for a new automotive category, grow customer awareness, and drive engagement from the ground up. The work is set in a fast-moving environment where ambiguity is expected, and the successful candidate will help shape both the launch strategy and the longer-term international expansion approach.

What you will do

  • Lead the marketing function for a new automotive-related category and help establish the business in market.
  • Develop the go-to-market strategy in close collaboration with strategic partners, outside agencies, and internal Amazon teams.
  • Build a plan for international marketing expansion that can be adapted as the business enters additional countries.
  • Set up the marketing operation by creating a resourcing plan and hiring a small, effective team to deliver the work.
  • Define the intended customer segment for the new category and shape the brand’s positioning around that audience.
  • Increase awareness of the new offering both within Amazon and through channels outside Amazon.
  • Design and execute integrated campaigns that combine digital activity with physical events to introduce the category to customers.
  • Monitor campaign results, interpret performance data, and make improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Use Amazon’s marketing platforms, tools, and channels to support customer discovery and engagement.
  • Work with partner organizations to align marketing plans so that all parties are moving in the same direction.
  • Create collaborative marketing approaches that strengthen partner brands while also building the new Amazon category.
  • Act as the central marketing contact for external agencies and manage those relationships day to day.
  • Adjust the marketing strategy for different regions by taking local market differences into account, especially in relation to the US.
  • Translate local cultural understanding into campaign ideas, event concepts, and messaging that feel relevant and genuine to consumers in each market.
  • Partner with public relations teams on launch communications, international rollout messaging, and ongoing brand narrative development.
  • Work with legal teams to ensure advertising activity follows regional guidance and meets UK advertising standards.
  • Take automotive-sector regulatory requirements into account when planning marketing activity in the UK.
  • Identify, assess, and onboard agencies and contractors needed to execute the marketing plan.
  • Manage external partners to ensure work is delivered to the required standard, on schedule, and against agreed objectives.

What Amazon is looking for

  • Strong capability with Excel or Tableau, including data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables.
  • Experience setting direction and building alignment across cross-functional groups.
  • Background in marketing or marketing research.
  • Experience using data and metrics to assess impact and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience reporting progress, metrics, and goal attainment to senior leadership.
  • Experience launching new products or new business offerings.
  • Experience in marketing, brand advertising, media sales, or online advertising, including close work with senior advertisers and agency stakeholders.
  • Experience in e-commerce or online advertising.
  • Experience delivering results through digital and multi-channel marketing.
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguity, prioritize competing needs, and produce measurable outcomes in an agile setting.
  • Preferred: experience with traditional and newer media channels such as TV, out-of-home, cinema, digital display, online video, and paid social.
  • Preferred: experience working across multiple locations or markets.
  • Preferred: an MBA.
  • Preferred: experience building, running, and scaling cross-functional programs or campaigns from idea through completion.
