As an IT Solutions Engineer at Arm, you will act as the primary technical lead for the company’s communication, collaboration, and workplace technology environment. The role is focused on improving how colleagues work by combining technical expertise, curiosity about new tools, and close partnership with internal teams and external suppliers. You will help shape the experience of employees across the workplace by understanding how they use technology, identifying opportunities for improvement, and introducing solutions that make day-to-day work smoother and more effective.

This position is based in Cambridge, United Kingdom, and Arm expects you to spend at least two days each week in the office so you can work closely with the team. Arm’s hybrid approach is intended to balance high performance with personal wellbeing, and the exact pattern for this role will be shared during the application process. The company also notes that flexibility can sometimes be affected by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and it will work with candidates to find the best possible arrangement where needed.

What you will do

  • Take ownership of the technical direction for workplace communication, collaboration, and office technology services across Arm.
  • Improve the colleague experience by learning how teams operate, spotting friction points, and using research and trend analysis to guide better technology choices.
  • Work across a wide service portfolio that includes Zoom, meeting room technology, Slack, Microsoft tools, telephony, printers, Google services, internal events, visitor management, desk booking, and digital signage.
  • Evaluate, test, and introduce new tools where they can improve the workplace environment.
  • Connect existing systems and services so they work together more effectively and support a more seamless user experience.
  • Partner with colleagues on office design and workplace planning, helping to define technology needs for new or changing spaces.
  • Create applications and integrations, including Slack apps and API-based solutions, to extend and improve service capability.
  • Use adoption and usage data to understand how services are being used and to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support colleagues directly when issues arise and contribute to reliable day-to-day service delivery.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, business partners, and suppliers on projects, support work, and service enhancements.

Skills and experience needed

  • Deep practical experience with Zoom, including advanced features, AI functionality, integrations, apps, and agents.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual equipment, with a track record of improving uptime and reliability.
  • Ability to build Slack apps and work confidently with APIs and integrations.
  • Hands-on experience using Microsoft technologies to automate processes and connect systems.
  • Experience working collaboratively with colleagues, technical specialists, and suppliers across both project delivery and support activities.
  • Experience with custom auditorium equipment used for internal events would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of running local telephony services through Session Border Controllers would be useful.
  • General familiarity with printer setup and secure print services would be beneficial.
  • Experience using ServiceNow to support users and improve service performance would be an advantage.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms to identify data trends would be helpful.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot Studio and the Microsoft Power Platform would be valuable.
  • Experience using ChatGPT, ideally including the development of custom GPTs, would be a plus.
  • Understanding of service reliability principles would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a Cambridge-based hybrid arrangement and attend the office at least two days per week.
