What you will do

  • Lead the most complex and ambiguous agile product initiatives and programmes, often involving multiple teams and specialist disciplines.
  • Work closely with Valtech’s internal teams of developers, designers and testing engineers to help deliver innovative, high-quality products and services.
  • Ensure product teams are solving the right problems by aligning delivery to business goals, user needs and a strong commercial rationale.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, strategists and delivery leads, and partner with senior and executive-level client stakeholders to define product and service direction.
  • Clarify priorities, test assumptions, agree success measures and help move ideas from concept through to successful implementation.
  • Take a leadership role within programme teams, supporting and guiding other Product Managers as well as the broader delivery team.
  • Contribute to commercial activity by helping with pitches, proposals and business development efforts.
  • Play a part in shaping the Product practice itself by improving strategy, craft and capability across the team.
  • Coach and support colleagues so they can continue developing their skills and careers.

What the role is looking for

  • A proven history of delivering products and services from start to finish, with clear evidence of results and impact.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite leaders.
  • Comfort working in partnership with colleagues and clients in a collaborative environment.
  • A test-and-learn approach and a genuine commitment to ongoing improvement.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities from multiple senior stakeholders while keeping delivery moving.
  • Confidence operating in ambiguity and switching between strategic thinking and detailed workstreams depending on what is needed.
  • Practical experience using AI tools and technologies in day-to-day product management work, plus confidence promoting AI-enabled ways of working within a team.
  • Experience building and launching AI-powered products or capabilities for organisations and their users.
  • Ability to create your own tools, scripts or workflows that extend AI beyond a standard conversational interface.
  • Broad exposure across the product or service lifecycle, from discovery and strategy through build, run and optimisation, ideally within commerce.
  • Deep experience in at least one part of the lifecycle or within a particular industry.
  • Experience selling work or helping secure investment for product ideas.
  • Background leading teams in large-scale, ambiguous or challenging environments.
  • Experience coaching teams and turning underperforming groups into high-performing agile teams.
  • Ability to zoom out, understand complex systems, identify leverage points and break down silos.
  • Experience mentoring Product Managers or managing them directly.
  • Applicants are still encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every requirement or have gaps in their experience.
