| Category | IT Jobs |
| Job Type | Full Time |
| Location | Glasgow |
This role sits within Capgemini Invent and is focused on leading major cloud and infrastructure transformation work for enterprise clients. The position is aimed at someone who can guide programmes from early strategy and business case development all the way through delivery and the realisation of benefits. The work is positioned as part of a broader consulting environment that combines strategy, creativity, science, and technology to help clients solve current and future transformation challenges.
What you will do
- Take ownership of complex cloud and infrastructure transformation programmes for large organisations, ensuring they are delivered from initial planning through to measurable outcomes.
- Lead programmes that may include cloud migration, data centre exit, infrastructure transformation, landing zone implementation, and modernisation of platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Establish and manage the programme governance framework, including the business case, delivery roadmap, RAID log, dependency management, scope control, statement of work oversight, and executive reporting.
- Keep delivery focused on business value rather than only technical activity, making sure the programme remains aligned to the clientâs strategic goals.
- Work with client finance and business stakeholders to define, track, and evidence the benefits delivered by the programme, translating technical change into commercial and operational value.
- Lead and support cross-functional teams made up of client staff, Capgemini colleagues, hyperscaler partners, and third-party suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships and help coordinate delivery across multiple organisations and workstreams.
- Use AI and generative AI tools where appropriate to improve delivery speed and effectiveness.
- Contribute to programmes that increasingly involve AI and data workload migration and modernisation.
- Depending on seniority, either lead a major workstream or medium-sized programme end to end, or lead large and highly complex programmes with senior client ownership and responsibility for generating follow-on opportunities.
- Support business development activity through proposals, RFP responses, bids, proposition creation, pitch support, and client hosting at events.
- Contribute to internal practice development through campaign work, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, operations, recruitment, team events, and development of service offerings.
- Take part in learning and development activity, including training and certifications, to support both your own growth and the organisationâs capability needs.
What the role expects from you
- For a Managing Consultant, you should be able to lead a significant workstream or a medium-sized programme from start to finish, manage day-to-day client relationships, and deliver high-quality outputs.
- For a Senior Manager, you should be capable of leading large and complex programmes, handling senior client relationships, and helping to shape and win additional work.
- You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation and enjoy helping clients transform through technology.
Experience and skills sought
- Experience leading or managing medium-to-large cloud and infrastructure programmes, such as cloud transformation, data centre exit, or infrastructure modernisation, ideally in a consulting or client-facing role.
- Practical experience delivering cloud migration and modernisation work on at least one of the major hyperscaler platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Useful knowledge of DevOps, FinOps, platform engineering, and SRE is welcomed.
- Strong programme governance capability, including business case development, roadmap planning, RAID management, dependency management, executive reporting, and scope and commercial management.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders at senior levels across functions such as finance, procurement, engineering, security, and operations.
- Ability to gain support and commitment from peers and stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Experience with AI-related or data-related programmes, or with using AI tools to improve programme delivery, would be a strong advantage.
- Professional certifications such as MSP, PMP, SAFe, PRINCE2, or Scrum are considered beneficial.
- Hyperscaler certifications are also viewed positively.

You may work on a wide range of projects, which can provide rapid exposure to different challenges and learning opportunities. Client engagements also give access to leadership and experienced consulting managers, creating opportunities to learn directly from them, challenge ideas, and build delivery capability and industry understanding.
