Graduates will also gain experience through rotations in related development teams, reinforcing their understanding of how different modelling disciplines fit together.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in the graduate program’s training and rotation structure, beginning with the initial month-long learning period and then moving through different teams and disciplines.
  • Support model development work that helps quantify loss potential from severe climate and catastrophe events.
  • Collaborate with hazard, vulnerability, exposure, and financial modellers to improve the quality and usefulness of the final modelling output.
  • Carry out research and development on climate-related hazards and their effects on buildings and the wider built environment.
  • Contribute to work covering tropical cyclones, inland and coastal flooding, severe and winter weather, and both long-term and immediate climate change impacts.
  • Build understanding of Moody’s products, the way they are constructed, and the value they provide to insurance customers.
  • Develop technical, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills through practical experience across multiple rotations.
  • Use programming and modelling tools as part of day-to-day development work, adapting to new languages or methods when needed.
