Anaplan is hiring a Platform Software Engineer to join the Core Resource Management team in York. This position is tied to a cost-optimization initiative focused on understanding how customers consume hosting resources and automatically adjusting those resources up or down as needed. What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain automation that right-sizes hosting resources on Anaplan’s Kubernetes platform.
• Build robust, efficient, high-performance services in Rust that support platform stability and scale.
• Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of the services you own, including infrastructure definitions, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and testing.
• Create and maintain Helm charts and Jenkins pipelines to support delivery and operations.
• Set up alerting, dashboards, and automated test coverage so services remain observable and dependable.
• Participate in weekly system design sessions and help guide technical direction.
• Carry out detailed code reviews and contribute to engineering quality standards.
• Support the growth of junior engineers through mentoring and collaboration.
• Work closely with teammates in York and with wider engineering groups to align infrastructure work with broader company goals.

What the team is looking for

• Strong experience with at least one modern backend or systems language such as Rust, Go, C++, Python, or Java.
• Clear enthusiasm for working mainly in Rust.
• A history of delivering complex work into production environments.
• Hands-on experience with regular deployments to live systems.
• Understanding of true CI/CD practices and how to apply them in real engineering work.
• Experience using monitoring, alerting, and logging tools to keep systems healthy and reliable, with examples including Grafana, Prometheus, and Datadog.
• Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams alongside product managers and other engineers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and contribute to shared engineering outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience in platform cost optimization, performance profiling, capacity planning, or FinOps would be a strong advantage.
