  • Design, build, test, and maintain Workday configurations, business processes, calculated fields, and routing logic so the system continues to meet changing operational needs.
  • Review Workday’s twice-yearly release updates, assess the impact on existing setups, and recommend or implement new functionality where appropriate.
  • Investigate system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and escalate unresolved problems to the right support teams, including Workday Support and internal IT.
  • Provide day-to-day support to finance users, answering questions, handling requests, and delivering training where needed.
  • Work with finance stakeholders to understand business requirements, review current processes, and translate those needs into functional specifications for system improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and automate manual work within Workday.
  • Prepare and execute testing activities, including functional test planning and coordination of user acceptance testing.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, training content, and documentation to support effective use of the platform.
  • Create and manage financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs in Workday to provide management and stakeholders with timely, accurate information.
  • Analyze financial data such as revenue, expenses, budgets, and forecasts to identify trends, exceptions, and actionable insights.
  • Support data audits and put data-quality controls in place to protect the integrity of key financial records such as chart of accounts, vendor data, customer data, and fixed assets.
  • Partner with IT to ensure the solution aligns with business requirements and remains compliant with regulatory obligations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Contribute to Workday implementation and enhancement projects by bringing financial expertise, gathering requirements, testing solutions, and supporting go-live readiness.
  • Lead or co-lead design workshops and configuration decisions, and guide clients toward Workday best practices.
  • Collaborate with teams across HR, IT Security, Risk Management, Integrations, and other enterprise functions to ensure smooth integration and end-to-end functionality.
  • Help manage project scope, client expectations, planning, and delivery commitments.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide practical guidance to support their development.
  • Serve as a thought leader in the domain, contributing to architecture and design reviews, business pursuits, client training, and internal capability building.

Experience and qualifications

  • At least nine years of experience as a Workday or ERP financial consultant.
  • Strong understanding of finance operations and accounting practices, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, general ledger, and budgeting.
