An established semiconductor technology company in West London is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer to take on a hands-on technical leadership position. This role sits within a multidisciplinary engineering environment and offers the chance to influence both the detailed design work and the broader hardware direction of complex electronic products.
In this position, you will be involved across the full product lifecycle, starting with early concept development and continuing through to production. The work centres on high-performance electronic systems, with a strong emphasis on practical hardware design, architecture input, and collaboration with other engineering specialists.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of the design and development of advanced analogue and digital electronic systems.
- Contribute to hardware architecture choices and help guide projects from initial concept through to production release.
- Carry out schematic design work, PCB development, and component selection.
- Assist with prototype build-up, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Partner with embedded software, FPGA, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure the complete system works together effectively.
- Offer technical leadership and practical support to engineers within the wider team.
What the employer is looking for
- A qualification in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Proven experience in analogue and digital circuit design, together with PCB development.
- Experience working on complex hardware products in a semiconductor or similarly high-technology setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute at both implementation and architecture level.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
