What you will do
- Develop high-quality, customer-focused designs informed by UX research, market research, behavioral data, and input from internal stakeholders.
- Work alongside Science and Editorial partners to help train the language model so that the generated content reflects the intended design and customer experience.
- Help strengthen and spread effective design practices across the organization, contributing to the evolution of product strategy.
- Turn business objectives into practical use cases and into broad customer experience requirements.
- Shape the interface and interaction model for new features, using Figma, other prototyping tools, and AI-based tools to quickly generate and test ideas.
- Create and maintain detailed design documentation and specifications.
- Share design concepts and progress with the UX team, product managers, engineers, Amazon leadership, and outside partners to collect feedback and support decision-making.
- Define a high-level customer strategy that supports both immediate needs and longer-term product direction.
- Collaborate across disciplines from the earliest product concepts through launch, ensuring design, research, technical, and operational perspectives are aligned.
What you need
- At least 10 years of design experience.
- An online portfolio that can be reviewed during the hiring process.
- Strong experience with user interface design, information architecture, and interaction design best practices.
- Experience working on design projects through the full lifecycle, from strategy and planning to execution and delivery.
- An inventorâs mindset, with a strong understanding of interaction design and a passion for technology and innovation.
- The ability to work at pace, manage several projects at once, and quickly convert customer needs into compelling solutions.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage stakeholder input, requirements, and schedules effectively.
- The ability to present ideas in a polished, professional way using both strategic and creative framing.
- Knowledge of conversation design fundamentals and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, scientists, and operations specialists.
Nice to have
- Experience making strategic and tactical recommendations based on data.
- Experience using AI tools for prototyping.
