Sales Engineer – UK Overview

This role sits within the Sales Engineering team and is based in the UK as a remote position. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Sales Engineering Manager and will act as a key technical partner to the sales organization, helping prospective customers understand the Zscaler cloud security platform and how it can support their transformation goals. The position is centered on trusted-advisor work: translating complex technical and business needs into clear recommendations, guiding customers through their journey, and helping demonstrate the value of the platform in a way that is relevant to each prospect.

What you will do

• Introduce and explain the Zscaler cloud security platform to prospective customers in a way that is clear, credible, and tailored to their needs.
• Help define the direction of customer conversations by converting business and technical objectives into practical, compelling recommendations.
• Act as a dependable technical advisor throughout the customer’s transformation process, bringing both subject-matter depth and strategic perspective.
• Collect customer technical requirements and use that information to shape proof-of-concept work, presentations, and demonstrations that show the platform’s value.
• Work alongside sales colleagues to identify potential opportunities, assess whether they are a good fit, and determine the right scope for engagement.

Minimum experience and qualifications

• At least five years of experience in a Sales Engineer or Solutions Consultant role.
• Practical knowledge of enterprise networking or cloud security technologies.
• Experience using value-selling methods when engaging with customers.
• Ability to build and deliver presentations and product demonstrations effectively.
• Experience working with sales teams to identify, qualify, and scope opportunities, including supporting proof-of-concept engagements.

Preferred background

• Cloud platform certifications or other relevant credentials, such as CISSP or CCNP.
• Hands-on technical experience in areas such as SASE, proxy technology, cybersecurity, IPS, DLP, CASB, or CNAPP.
