This role sits within Capgemini Inventâs cloud advisory capability and is focused on helping clients reshape how they operate in the cloud. The work is centred on designing and improving cloud operating models that are built for automation, data-driven decision-making, and AI readiness. You will combine technology, service management, and organisational change expertise to help clients turn cloud adoption into measurable business value, with particular attention to how GenAI, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation are changing the way organisations run their operations.
What you will do
- Advise clients on the operational and organisational consequences of cloud transformation, and help them develop digitally enabled business models supported by cloud and AI-ready operating models.
- Assess existing cloud operating models to identify opportunities for improvement through standardisation, automation, better data flows, and readiness for AI-enabled operations.
- Translate assessment findings into future-state operating models, service management processes, and organisational structures that are standardisation-led, automation-first, and prepared for AI.
- Design target cloud operating models, service management frameworks, and organisational structures that reflect each clientâs strategic goals and cloud maturity.
- Define future-state processes across service delivery, governance, and operational workflows, ensuring the designs are practical, measurable, and aligned to automation-first and AI-ready principles.
- Monitor and evaluate the success and maturity of cloud operating model change programmes, using operational metrics, service data, and insights to recommend further improvements.
- Support the introduction of intelligent monitoring, service analytics, and AIOps-style practices where appropriate.
- Use your knowledge of strategy, service management, agile delivery, DevOps, business process mapping, and organisational design to deliver business outcomes through cloud transformation.
- Work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation to innovate, design, and implement cloud transformation initiatives, while helping grow the consulting practice.
- Advise clients on practical uses of large language models, copilot tools, and agentic AI within cloud operating models, including service management automation, intelligent triage, and AI-assisted decision-making.
- Help clients think through AI governance issues, including data quality and transparency.
- Contribute to business development through proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitches, and hosting clients at events.
- Support internal practice development through campaigns, think tanks, whitepapers, recruitment-related activity, team events, and offering development.
- Take part in learning and development activities such as training and certifications to support your own growth and the needs of the business.
What you will bring
- Experience helping organisations transform through technology and rethink how they operate.
- Comfort working in a technology-led environment.
- Practical knowledge of ITIL v4 and/or v5 best practices, including incident, change, and problem management, as well as service desk operations, with an interest in how these processes evolve through automation and AI-enabled tooling.
- An ITIL v4 and/or v5 Foundation certificate, or a higher-level ITIL qualification, would be especially valuable.
- Hands-on familiarity with GenAI tools and platforms, plus an understanding of how they fit into cloud operating models and ITSM workflows.
- Interest in agentic AI patterns and how autonomous agents are beginning to reshape IT operations and service delivery.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including CI, CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and modern delivery pipelines.
- Ability to manage and architect solutions on major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including compute, storage, networking, and security services.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practice and compliance requirements so that cloud environments and automated services remain secure, resilient, and aligned with industry standards and regulations.
- Current experience in a major consulting firm, or industry experience backed by a consulting background.
- Proven ability to succeed in a matrixed organisation and to gain support and commitment from peers when selling and delivering consulting solutions.
- Experience creating propositions and helping deliver them.
- Clear curiosity and ongoing learning in AI, demonstrated through certifications, personal projects, published thinking, or active involvement in AI communities or internal practice development.
- Ability to support business development by drawing on existing relationships, wider company relationships, and your own network.
- Willingness to work from a London, Manchester, or Glasgow office base while remaining fully flexible about assignment location and prepared for periods away from home at short notice.
