Bloomberg’s data organization is focused on delivering information, news, and analytics quickly and accurately by combining data with context for clients around the world. The team uses technology and problem-solving to improve workflows, strengthen systems, and create better products and processes. Within that environment, this position sits in OTC Fixed Income Pricing and is centered on shaping data products that support Bloomberg’s fixed income offering.

What the role involves

In this senior data management role, you will help define and execute strategies for finding, acquiring, and growing valuable content sets. The aim is to improve the quality, commercial value, and relevance of Bloomberg’s datasets so they continue to meet changing client needs. The position requires a strong understanding of fixed income markets and a strategic approach to identifying opportunities, closing product gaps, and supporting new use cases.

The role places a strong emphasis on corporates and sovereigns. You will work with internal partners and senior leaders to deliver outcomes that are centered on customer needs, while also coordinating third-party content investments and bringing together cross-functional teams to support growth. Success in the role depends on being curious, commercially aware, and able to communicate clearly across regions in a complex and fast-moving market.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and rank data-driven plans for identifying and securing new datasets, then monitor progress against those targets.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key decision-makers so content priorities are aligned with broader business goals.
  • Ensure existing datasets are usable, accessible, and fit for purpose so the value of onboarding content is fully realized.
  • Own and deliver data quality initiatives, choosing projects based on shifting business priorities and commercial conditions.
  • Manage the budget and costs associated with third-party content in the team’s area, and improve those arrangements to maximize value for Bloomberg and its customers.
  • Lead campaigns across OTC Pricing that bring together Relationship Managers and Technical Account Managers around shared goals.
  • Identify weaknesses in the current product set and expand coverage to address new and emerging client requirements.
  • Serve as an advocate for the fixed income content that powers the product and represent the Content Acquisition function across the organization.
  • Work across functions and regions to turn strategy into measurable outcomes and practical action.
  • Support growth initiatives by mobilizing teams and maintaining clear, coordinated communication.

What Bloomberg is looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, STEM, or an equivalent level of education.
  • At least four years of experience in financial markets, along with deep knowledge of fixed income markets, including market structure, current trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Strong ability to manage stakeholders and influence people across different functions, geographies, and seniority levels.
  • Proven experience translating strategic direction into measurable results and actionable goals for regional teams.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cross-regional execution, alignment, and strategic communication.
  • A strategic, action-oriented mindset and comfort making decisions when information is incomplete.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, complex environment.
  • Although the posting gives years of experience as a guide, Bloomberg says it will consider candidates who can show they have the skills needed for the role even if they do not meet the stated number exactly.
