Job Type Full Time
Location London

Bloomberg is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join its Human Resources function in London and help shape the employee benefits strategy across the EMEA region. The role sits within a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment and focuses on delivering benefits that support employees’ personal and family needs while also helping the business succeed. The position is part of the EMEA Benefits team, which supports a large workforce across many countries, and it also connects with the broader Global Benefits group on international projects.

What the role involves

In this position, you will help drive the benefits agenda for the region and support a range of programs, including retirement, health and welfare, and wellness initiatives. You will work from London and partner with colleagues across the business to improve how benefits are designed, communicated, and administered.

A major part of the role is vendor management. You will handle provider relationships, manage escalated employee cases, support internal communications about benefit plans, and work with procurement on contract reviews, renewals, and invoice reconciliation. You will also contribute analysis to benefit plan design reviews and work closely with HR stakeholders, Benefits Operations, and Payroll on policy questions and related issues.

The role also includes collaboration beyond EMEA. As part of the wider Global Benefits team, you will work with colleagues in the Americas and APAC on global initiatives that may affect a very large employee population across many countries.

Key responsibilities

  • Review benefit programs independently and look for ways to improve them using financial analysis, market comparisons, claims and utilization trends, and employee feedback.
  • Make sure benefit offerings remain compliant with local laws and statutory obligations.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities across benefits programs and work with stakeholders to put those improvements in place.
  • Provide specialist support for complex employee benefits questions and serve as an escalation contact for HR teams.
  • Use judgement to resolve sensitive matters, reduce risk, and deliver effective outcomes.
  • Lead the end-to-end rollout of new plans, policies, programs, and plan designs.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and advisors and ensure they meet agreed service and performance standards.
  • Stay current on benefits legislation, industry standards, and best practices, and apply that knowledge to internal processes and procedures.
  • Work with Internal Communications to prepare messaging for both existing and new benefit programs so employees understand what is available to them.
  • Keep benefits information accurate and current across HR systems and internal documentation.

What Bloomberg is looking for

The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience in benefits management and advisory work, including experience in a corporate benefits environment. You should understand benefits programs and local regulations in the UK and other EMEA markets such as France, South Africa, Israel, the Netherlands, and the UAE.

You will need experience designing and implementing benefits programs, along with strong project management skills and the ability to develop creative solutions that fit existing policies and processes. Bloomberg is also looking for someone who can adapt quickly when regulations change, produce data-driven recommendations, and assess risk carefully.

Advanced Excel and analytical skills are important, as is a strong eye for detail and the ability to identify and correct data errors. Good judgement is essential, including knowing when to escalate issues and being flexible when circumstances change. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Additional qualities that would be valued

  • Clear and effective communication, including the ability to follow through and handle difficult decisions thoughtfully.
  • The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and juggle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • A strong customer-service orientation and a responsive, practical, open-minded approach.

Working environment and culture

Bloomberg describes its workplace as energetic, fast-paced, and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, quality, and innovation. The company highlights a culture built around teamwork, open communication, and community involvement through volunteer activity.

The role is based in London and is part of the Human Resources business area. The posting does not describe a hybrid or remote arrangement, so the working pattern is presented as an onsite London role.

Application and support

Candidates can apply through Bloomberg’s job application process. The company also states that reasonable adjustments or accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities. If you need support during the application process, you can contact the relevant regional recruitment email address depending on where you are applying from: Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, or Asia-Pacific.
