An opportunity is available for a senior-level embedded software engineer to join a global business operating in the safety and security space. The role is based in central Bristol and is aimed at an ambitious engineer who wants to build a long-term career while working with experienced specialists on a portfolio of embedded software products.

The position offers a salary in the range of £45,000 to £60,000, depending on experience, together with a strong benefits package. What you will be doing

  • Contributing to the development of embedded software products across the company’s product portfolio.
  • Working alongside experienced engineers and subject matter experts in a collaborative environment.
  • Writing and maintaining low-level embedded C code for embedded systems.
  • Using real-time operating systems in development work, with FreeRTOS specifically mentioned as desirable.
  • Supporting software development on ARM-based platforms and architectures.
  • Working with networking technologies and protocols such as TCP and UDP.
  • Helping deliver software for applications where reliability and safety are important.

What the employer is looking for
