Category IT Jobs
Job Type Full Time
Location Rest of UK

This is a senior identity and access management support role focused on a highly customised Microsoft Identity Manager environment operating inside a secure enterprise estate. The position is based onsite in either Manchester or Inverness, with a five-day office pattern. The successful person will support critical identity lifecycle services, keep integrations between identity platforms working reliably, and help maintain the security, stability, and performance of core IAM services. The role sits within Capgemini’s cybersecurity community and involves close collaboration with security, infrastructure, and operational teams to resolve complex issues and improve the platform over time.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver second- and third-line support for a complex Microsoft Identity Manager platform that has been heavily tailored to the organisation’s needs.
  • Keep identity lifecycle management, provisioning, and synchronisation services operating effectively.
  • Investigate and resolve difficult incidents related to identity and access management.
  • Analyse recurring problems, identify the underlying cause, and implement permanent fixes rather than temporary workarounds.
  • Support integrations spanning Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and other connected identity technologies.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks so the service can be operated consistently.
  • Contribute to service enhancement work, including automation, tuning, and broader platform optimisation.
  • Work with security, infrastructure, and operations colleagues to support the ongoing development of the identity management capability.

What the role requires

  • Extensive practical experience supporting Microsoft Identity Manager in enterprise settings.
  • Proven ability to work with highly customised MIM implementations and solve complex technical issues.
  • Experience providing L2 and L3 operational support in business-critical IAM environments.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management principles, including joiner-mover-leaver processes, identity lifecycle management, and access governance.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and hybrid identity environments.
  • Ability to use PowerShell and to review and troubleshoot C#/.NET code used in MIM customisations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability, especially for provisioning, synchronisation, and access-management problems.
  • Experience in secure, regulated, or tightly controlled environments is preferred.
  • Experience with Okta, BeyondTrust, or other enterprise identity platforms would be an advantage.
  • Experience with privileged access management solutions would also be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of CyberArk, SailPoint, or Microsoft Identity Governance capabilities is desirable.
