This role is for an experienced senior marketing leader who will shape and execute theatrical marketing strategy for film releases across the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Head of Theatrical Marketing UK, the position combines high-level planning, analytical insight, creative oversight, media strategy, and cross-functional leadership to help drive audience engagement and box office performance.
What you will do
- Lead the local marketing strategy for multiple theatrical releases across the UK and Ireland, ensuring campaigns are designed to build audience interest and deliver strong commercial results.
- Own strategic planning and budget management for several high-profile releases running at the same time.
- Develop territory-wide marketing plans and longer-term activation roadmaps tailored to the UK and Ireland.
- Carry out detailed analysis of local market conditions and competitor activity to guide campaign decisions.
- Work with senior leadership to define campaign objectives, key performance indicators, and success measures.
- Introduce new approaches to audience engagement and help evaluate emerging marketing technologies and methods.
- Mentor junior marketing managers, helping them strengthen their strategic thinking and campaign planning skills.
- Provide creative leadership across all marketing assets and brand touchpoints in the territory.
- Oversee localization work and coordinate with international teams so that global campaigns are adapted effectively for local audiences.
- Maintain brand consistency and creative quality across multiple campaigns at once.
- Build and manage relationships with creative agencies and partners in the UK and Ireland.
- Review and approve creative direction for major marketing initiatives where the stakes are high.
- Develop media strategies that span traditional, digital, and emerging channels.
- Lead negotiations and strategic collaboration with media agencies and platforms supporting local campaigns.
- Identify, develop, and manage brand partnerships and co-marketing opportunities.
- Work closely with international media leadership to share best practice and support innovation.
- Improve the efficiency of media investment across the local campaign portfolio.
- Plan and deliver special projects, premieres, and other large-scale events in the territory.
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships involving multiple external agencies.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with content managers, PR, digital, and international partners.
- Advise distribution teams on how theatrical titles should be positioned in the UK and Ireland.
- Help align the wider organization around local campaign priorities and resource allocation.
- Support the development of team capability by mentoring junior colleagues and encouraging strong creative problem-solving.
What the role requires
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in English, including the ability to speak, read, and write confidently.
- A proven background in managing complex marketing campaigns.
- Strong expertise in integrated marketing across traditional, digital, and experiential channels.
- Advanced stakeholder management skills, including experience working with internal leaders and external partners.
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and presentation abilities.
- Experience in international marketing coordination and localization is desirable.
- Experience bringing innovation into marketing technology and emerging platforms is desirable.
- Financial acumen, including experience with P&L responsibility, is desirable.
